Dr. Bommelje gives inspirational lectures. If you really apply yourself, keep an open mind and listen to what he shares, you will learn things about yourself that you never knew! His exams are tough, be prepared to apply your knowledge and tell stories through examples. Lots of self-reflection and writing but well worth it if you dedicate yourself.

Excellent, I liked taking his Listening course so much that I took his Leadership course, as well, both were interesting to me. He helped me learn to train myself to focus in on listening to people.

His listening class should be called memorizing. Memorize all the lists he gives you (10 effective habits of listeners, etc.) and you'll do well. Midterm and final are the hardest you'll have at Rollins.

Dr. Bommelje is an amazing professor! He tests you in many different key areas of your life such as listening, leadership, self-leadership, purpose,and much more! His classes are difficult and time consuming, but trust me, the work will pay off! If you take his self-leadership communication class you will get a better understanding of who you are!

He really believes in what he teaches. You must participate in his class in order to survive it. There is a lot of content surrounded by a LOT of uselss fluff. The key is figuring out what is important. His midterm is INSANE. There were people leaving the exam because they couldn't finish it. He likes to test you on your memorization of lists.

Ok teacher makes class more difficult that it should be, great topic but I feel the exams Are a little tooooo much. Will not take his classes again due to the fact that he gives too much work and it's not being lazy but if you have another 2 or 3 classes to worry about adding work is difficult to achieve and A plus.

He's AWESOME! He lives what he teaches. He's humble & open-minded. If problems arise for you in the semester, TALK to him; he's kind & empathic. This class is NOT an easy class, so if you want that, look elsewhere. But if you want something worthwhile & life-changing, & you'll put the work into it, definitely take this class with him!

As long as you attend the lectures and do the work, his class is straight forward and rewarding. His tests turned my brain to pudding. They were HARD and "comprehensive" doesn't begin to describe it. However, he grades them fairly and understands that no one will remember everything. He is fair and informative.

by far one of my LEAST favorite teachers at Rollins. He needs to practice what he preaches - he does not listen to students or respond with empathy. He is basically running a self help class for Holt school students. They all get really into talking about their personal lives and problems - not what I signed up for!

Listening class has very little work, only a portfolio at the end that you can put together easily. The leadershp class requires a 2pg essay per week!! And group work! This man changed my life. He's not warm and fuzzy--but he's very fair and an incredibly good, inspirational teacher. He not only teaches the course content but he gives you life lessons that will stay with you forever. His teaching style is student centered learning. Amazing. Inspirational. Life changing. If you're not serious don't take his class.

This class is AMAZING! I think it should be a requirement for all Rollins students. It is not easy, but you learn A LOT. Do NOT slack in this class!!! Everyone should take Bommelje, great Professor!
