This class reads plenty of books! All we do in class is discuss them. He makes discussion fun, I am just a slow reader (reading about a novel a week) and I feel discouraged to go to class without having read the books. If you cannot handle reading a lot, try to take someone else. Rick Van Noy? more like Reading Van Noy. Good luck.

Dr. Van Noy is great. I usually don't go a semester without being in one of his classes! His class covers some great topics, some controversial, and yet maintains a very laid-back atmosphere. He keeps you laughing and doesn't require a ton of work, but instead likes to facilitate important discussion that makes the reading responses much easier.

My favorite professor in the English department. Encourages class discussion/participation. He wants to know your thoughts and is not afraid to learn from his students. I try to take him every semester. A semester without Van Noy is not a good semester!

Not the clearest teacher but definitely one of the easiest. You write one-1 page paper per week with a 3 pager every so often. very easy topics, very easy grader, i got a 100 without really even trying. no tests, no reading, just writing about things that interest you.

He is an ok teacher. We wrote several essays, and at the end of the semester we handed in a portfolio of all the things we had written. So keep your essays! He is somewhat helpful in giving feedback and comments on essays. It's good if you go to class; it's not mandatory though.

He is an ok teacher. Sometimes it doesnt sound he knows what he is talking about about other times he gives good advice. No tests, just papers which arent bad. His schedule is confusing bc he doesnt put what it due he just puts what we are doing. He says you can eat in the class but he gives u looks when u eat. I would say take him

He is amazing! I hate reading the classics over and over but he really tries to make class fun and tells you exactly what he wants. He lets you know when quizzes will be and they are open book. He will make you laugh almost every class.

Dr. Van Noy is amazing. If you have the change to take him do it. His attendance policy is you can miss up to 6 classes. He gives you small assignments that builds up to your main paper. If you do those then your paper will most likely be an A. He is a great funny guy. Take him!

I only got to take him once before I graduated, but I loved every minute of this class. This man is so hilarious and he doesn't even try. If you want an easy A and a lot of good laughs sign up for him immediately!
