Took Rita's course for intensive beginner's italian & she taught it exceptionally well. She's approachable & friendly & offers a lot of help outside of class. Lectures are heavy; you're learning a new language in a 4 month span, it gets crammed. 1.5 hours to 2 hours max of homework every day. To do well attendance and participation are MANDATORY!

Wonderful prof! She loves everything Italian and wants her students to do well. She offers lots of opportunity to help outside of class. Go to class, participate, do all of the homework and you'll do well. Homework is about 20 min a night. You are graded on 2 midterms, an oral and a final exam, and you defiantly learn the basics to the language.

I love Dr. Bison! Really friendly! Oral participation everyday to practice pronunciation and conjugations. An excellent lecturer! Really clear, concise, and gives lots of examples. Very interested in everyone's learning. Easy tests! One 2-5 presentation at end of semester. Cannot express what a wonderful prof she is!

Intensive Italian for Beginners, what a lot to jam in your head in four months. It's possible, though, and the prof's teaching methods are successful toward that end. There was only one short oral presentation, but she went around and had people read from the textbook or answer questions to help us to actually speak the language, not just write it.

One of the best profs I had so far. Fun to be around. Makes the classes interesting and fun. The quizes, midterm and the exam are not hard at all , and you know exactly what is on them a class befor (her outlines are super). You have to attend class and do your work from the book if you want perfect. Her class was amazing. A+++

An excellent teacher of written Italian, Professor Bison should try to encourage more oral participation. In beginners' Italian I and II, there were no oral projects, tests or examinations. The class was very fast-paced; equivalent to three years of high school Italian. Bravo, Professoresa!
