This is a very challenging course! Dr. Arnold is a helpful professor but you will need to put in lots of effort to make sure you have an understanding of the material by going to his office hours. There are 4 exams that he gives with partial credit on them. Gives occasional quizzes based off relevant concepts. The final is a tough one!!!

Dr. Arnold 's Math 76 classes is one of the best classes I have ever taken. He thoroughly makes sure that you are learning the material and genuinely cares about helping students learn through his office hours. I warn you that you may feel tempted to drop this class after the first quiz or test, but if you work hard you can pass the class.

Dr. Arnold is very wise and knowledgable yet humble which didn't make me uncomfortable when I asked dumb questions. The class is not hard, you just have to work hard and go to the SI sessions. His tests are fairly easy and there are many extra credit opportunities!

Dr. Arnold is a really cool professor. If you can, try going to his office hours, hes really helpful and great to talk to. He gives quizzes everyday based off the homework he assigns. He also works close with his SI Leader so try going to SI sessions when you can. Definitely not an easy class to pass, but as long as you try youll be fine.

Dr. Arnold moves at a very fast pace, he expects a lot out of his students. If I recall correctly, he gave us a quiz on the first or second day of school. That being said, the class is definitely doable. The exams tend to be hard, but he gives really useful practice exams. Study hard, attend SI, do the homework and you should be fine.

He's a great professor. He may cover the material very fast, so read in advance. Work diligently from the beginning. He gives extra-credit. Go to his office hours and he'll explain things again. There are templates for the 4 exams, but not for the final. He makes some jokes so that the class is more enjoyable. Work hard and you'll get a good grade.

I'm seriously baffled by all of the positive reviews. This guy seriously is not good at all. Even gave us 3 quizzes back to back days starting a day after an exam. First class I may not pass . Unless you're really great at math please listen to me and don't take him. The majority of people in my section aren't passing. I warned you.

If you have a hard time in Math 75, don't take 76 with this guy. He goes over things very quickly. He gives quizzes on material only covered for a day or two. 100 pts of the class is based on participation. The problem is that you only get participation if you go up to the board and do a problem and get it 100% correct. There are better professors.

Overall okay. Skips over a few things or leaves problems unfinished to speed things up, but his office hours are very helpful. Gives study guides and previous versions of exams (four + a final) on his website that are very helpful. Online hw is extra credit, and he gives 15 quizzes. Participation is graded. Inflexible on grading.

Arnold was a good lecture teacher and gave pretty good examples and notes in class but when it came to tests they were super difficult and noting similar. Quiz are on the hw questions so practice them or you wont get any quiz points. SI was a big help for me they get you ready and have the previous tests so SI is a major key to passing his class.

What can I say. Calculus is a difficult subject. More so in my case since I didn't take Calculus in high school. It took all the effort vested in me to pass this class, and even though this was the lowest grade I've gotten in the Calculus series, I feel like it was the most special. Do the homework, go to SI, and go to office hours. You can pass.

Took Bob for MATH 75 and MATH 76. I'm currently in MATH 77 with Sabuwala. Arnold is a very good teacher because you can understand him. I had a harder time with MATH 75 than MATH 76 because Calculus was new to me. After getting my butt kicked in MATH 75, 76 wasn't so hard. I recommend doing the homework and going to office hours. Brilliant man.

I am a hard working student so you can trust this review. Dr. Arnold is fantastic. He's willing to do anything for his students and is also very funny. He works hard and makes complicated Calculus problems very easy to understand. I would highly recommend Dr. Arnold over any other Math professor at Fresno State.

If you're a person who needs structure you will fail. He teaches all over the place, doesn't give you step by step, or more than one example. He assumes everyone has knowledge of calculus prior to the class. Will only explain things in office hours. Teaches the material really fast (and poorly) so that he can spend a week reviewing before midterm.

Best Calc professor in my opinion. To get a good grade, I HIGHLY recommend going to his office hours. VERY HELPFUL. Textbook is not needed. The class is hard, but he'll teach you well. Don't be intimidated, he's really sweet. GO TO OFFICE HOURS. He has hard quizzes. Exams are the same for every Math 75 class on campus, but he prepares you well.

VERY hard class. for about 3 weeks straight he tells the class if you don't think you will pass this class, then drop. And coming from a student that did not get a terrific grade, do it! Math 75 is a difficult class to begin with and somehow he makes things more difficult. if this class is avoidable, drop out and take a prep class first or studyX90

Hard class but professor was willing to help. He had extra office hours and online study sessions before tests(not required). He doesn't use the book much but if you go to class he covers the material real conceptually. One of my favorite professors/teachers of all time.

I am pretty sure this professor is retiring but if for some reason he returns definitely take his class. He works really hard to get his students to pass. He held help sessions and gave us grade printouts all semester. He also is pretty funny and interesting to talk to. Math 75 is pretty tough but Dr. Arnold helps his students get through it.
