Dr. Baldridge was the first professor that made me think outside the box. You are forced to critically think in class. And yes, you. You specifically, reading this review. In front of everyone. For example: He asks: what is an insect? Answer: 6 legs, three body parts. His response: what happens when an ant loses a leg? Is it still an insect?

Dr. Baldridge is one of my favorite professors at Baylor (and I say this as a graduating Biology senior). A LOT of students do not like him because they are not used to being challenged by their professors in lecture; he WILL ask you questions in class and you will need to fight for every answer. Though, this class is worth it! The lab is hardwork.

Those who don't understand Socratic Method will think he doesn't teach, he just asks you questions... He can grill you up one side and down the other, so you better be prepared for class every day.

The comments are right -- he talks about hisself and that's what I'd rather hear about than cutting up rats or squeezing ****les or having ticks get loose in my clothes. Take his class -- if you act interested, you'll make an A. He's into inseckts, so learn some bs about some bugs to impress him.

This guy is unreal. He only talks about himself and has no method to teaching. They say when taking bio to avoid the "ridges" meaning him, his wife, or eldridge. I had 2 of the 3!! He really has unrealistic expectations of all his students. Don't take him unless he is your one and only class for the semester!

i don't know about this guy's teaching, i dropped his class on the 2nd day b/c he didn't mention bio once, but talked only about himself. i now know his life story now and what a genius he is. all he does is sit there and try to trip you up on some stupid pun or something.

Seriously you guys, I read and did everything I thought I was supposed to do. The fact of the matter is Dr. Baldridge does not actually teach the material or even give his students ideas of what to study. Very disorganized class where everything I learned I taught myself and failed for it.

I think if you love to laugh in class, then take Dr. Baldridge. If u want to learn in class, then take someone else. His tests are absolutely rediculous. He says that he does not try to trick u, but that is a trick all by itself. Try not to take him at all costs.

Absoilutely terrible... He doesnt care about anything but himself and his rep. Book does not go with the test. Tests are OUTRAGOUSLY tricky... and he does that for fun! Lectures are ok... but have NOTHING to do with the test!

As an alumnus (4th year MD/PhD student @ UT), I have to say that Dr. Baldrige made NO INPACT on my education or my life, whatsoever. Medical school requires a certain amount of empathy and leadership, qualities that Baldrige lacks.

A very nice guy, funny, and interesting. His class is fun and enjoyable to go to. His requires you to read and then ask questions. The problem is nobody reads or asks questions. If students fail, he fails. In the end, that's what matters I think.
