Since it's an art class, all of the grades are subjective, which makes it really difficult. If you put in a lot of effort and learn what he looks for, you should do pretty well. He does swear and make a lot of jokes, so if you are easily offended, this might not be the class for you.

Barnum is great. He's super funny, but if you're one of those people that are easily offended find someone else or another course to take. We gave each other crap all the time, he acts more like your friend not your teacher. I hate art but he's been my favorite professor so far, he understands that most of his students aren't art majors.

You will learn a lot in this class. Barnum is a funny guy who cares about your improvement and wants to help you succeed. He starts off as a difficult grader but eases up during the semester. There are 4 big projects and small drawings you turn in daily, so attendance is mandatory or your grade will suffer. I really enjoyed taking this class.

Walked into this class LOVING art and watercolor. Walked out never wanting to pick up a paintbrush ever again. Swears so much it's uncomfortable and awkward. I missed a few classes for doctors appointments and he took my midterm grade down 2 letters. He's rude and not afraid to call people out for ANYTHING.

This class was so much fun! We learned how to cut steel and weld it, and grind it. He's really funny and gets to know his students to pick on them. He's and awesome teacher and will never disregard your needs for his class.

Barnum is the best teacher on campus hands down! I have taken every one of the art classes offered by him, not because it's needed for my major but he is just that good of a teacher! He makes every class fun and easy while still getting work done. You will learn a lot without knowing it because the classes are so enjoyable. TAKE HIS CLASS!!

I LOVED HIM! He is funny, layed back, and helps if you ask. No biggie if your like 10min late. Have a max. of 3 absences. Small projects, wish I had something more challenging because I have more background...but would never have a different teacher
