Comment:
Great professor. Knows how to lecture effectively and efficiently. First midterm really weeds out the people who are just trying to skate by, because he is pretty ruthless when it comes to understanding the material. Class size dropped by 50% after the first midterm. 10/10 would recommend if you are serious about learning or economics

Definitely not a year 1 course. All he does is stand and talk, no PowerPoints and very little written notes. All of his test are all essay written format, and those three tests are the only thing you are graded on. Overall it was hard to grasp since he thinks everyone knows economics as well as he does.

He is a piece of art and a great professor! Lectures are straight forward and easy to understand, if you carefully listen to him and read the materials. Very polite, helpful and understanding person. However, his tests and final exam is going to make you work very hard.

Fantastic professor. His tests were 100% based on lectures, which is no problem if you show up to class and take good notes. He also provides potential test questions a week in advance and is extremely clear about what he wants on the tests. He is very good at explaining concepts- I had no previous knowledge of economics and I was completely fine.

Economic Determinants of Health taught by Rob will probably be one of my favourite courses I've taken in my degree - he's funny and passionate in lectures, never dull. Exams are long essay format which is challenging, but not impossible to do well if you prepared before.

Robert Chernomas is a prof I could listen to lecture all day. He talks fast but if you record the lectures you can really take a lot out of his condensed lectures and he really knows his stuff and is very helpful. Definitely want to take his class again!

I had no background of economics and needed this for an elective. I surprisingly did fairly well. A nice professor & very clear on explanations. Must attend all lectures. Gives you potential test questions before tests, VERY helpful for studying. Study tip: write out answers to all questions, study over and over and you should do fine!

Thorough prof. Tests are 100% based on his lectures so you won't pass by reading his books. Class is too advanced however to be a U1 course. Need to be familiar with economic concepts beforehand to understand what's going on.

Gives great lectures, IF you understand what he is talking about. If you're a person with no knowledge about politics and economics, you'll find this U1 course difficult. He doesnt use PowerPoint or D2L. You're purely tested on his lectures. Theories and models are more important than your opinion on tests. 2 tests and 1 final exam.

Rob Chernomas is a great prof. I had my first A in Econs with him. He knows his stuff very well. Gives you all test materials before hand, no excuse for failure. Would definitely take another class with him again.

At first, I really liked him. Everything about him is clear up until you go to office hours and ask him to change a mark on your test. He clearly agrees that the marker did mark it wrong but he'll make you feel like crap while he nitpicks at everything else. He did this for both my midterms. All-in-all, you'll find his lecture style engaging.

Prof. Chernomas is a wonderul engaging lecturer who really knows his stuff when it comes to economics. Yes, he has a clear political preference so if you believe what the Right-wingers are selling, you may not agree with him. In my humble opinion, he is on point.

Great Prof. Really knowledgeable about the things he teaches. If you want a good grade in his ECON 1210/20 course I highly recommend recording the lectures. He spells out arguments exactly the way he wants to hear them on the tests and exam.

One of the best profs I've had! Doesn't use slides or notes but he paces his lectures well and it's easy to follow along and take notes. He's funny and witty and you can tell he knows what he's talking about. Doesn't try to trick you. Gives out test prep ahead of time. Just pay attention and you do great!

This professor is simply great. He makes the material of the class interesting and highly relevant to current events. His teaching methods are clear, and his tests and exams contain no surprises. He even gives you the exam questions to study days before the exam! Although he is extremely leftist, it only enhances the class and the material.
