Comment:

Best English course and prof I've ever had. His seemingly "mean" approach weeds out the slackers and gets them to drop, and if you're ready to work hard, Prof Cockburn rewards you with generous marks and essay comments. He also assigns readings that will interest you.

Comment:

Professor Cockburn was an extremely difficult marker, however he forced you to push yourself and wouldn't accept any slacking. Although I was always stressed while writing papers for him, I always appreciated the marks a little extra, as I knew I truly deserved them.

I took English 100 from him and made a rude comment when he passed back my paper (got an F) in front of the whole class. It was rude and uncalled for. But at the same time encouraged me to do better and at the end of the year my last paper was an A.

This man knew I was shy and loved to watch me squirm in front of the class. Still, by the end of the year I actually found myself liking him. He was challenging, hiliarious and not nearly as mean as he'd like you to believe.
