Very unorganised. Lacks a general interest in the students. I took the course over summer so I did not even have access to GSI's. It was a horrible experience.

You may get lost easily in his lecture without prereading. Reading and discussing section attendance are crucial

possibly the worst class i've ever taken. lectures are incomprehensible and terribly unorganized. The professor did not care about the welfare of his students at all. fortunately we had an excellent GSI who saved the course from epic fail.

He would comment on the content of the book, definitely did not teach/lecture on the material. You definitely have to read the book in order to understand the material (TA lectures were sadly more useful). Learned mostly from the solution manual (tragic). Tests were in-class, and fast-paced. Definitely would not recommend.

This class was so unorganized! There were 4 quizzes instead of the usual 2 midterms (they were all like midterms, so hard and long; averages very low). He is never at office hours. He would tell us what was going to be on the quiz and then put stuff that was totally different. The HW was nothing like quizzes. (but he is funny, i will give him that)

If u don't have exp in matlab and u wanna an A, forget it. Cuz the professors easy lecture has nothing to do with the weekly assignment(overwhelm) and so many kids who've done matlab before or those cs guys come and sit in, asking non-sense quesions in the lecture , far beyond a beginner's level. So if u r a beginner, get a B and be happy.

Professor Dibble makes lectures entertaining - he's always cracking jokes, but still makes it through the material clearly and concisely. Lectures are power point presentations, but still explain the coursework well. He's great to have a yarn with as well, so stop by Office Hours and chances are you won't even touch the subject of MATLAB!
