Very good teacher but his class can be challenging. There is a quiz/test everyday so you can't slip for a second. He gives a ton of extra credit which does make up for it. He has an old school lecture style but is very knowledgeable. Seems like a nice guy even though I didn't talk to him too often.

I find it hilarious how much emphasis of the class starts out on talking about fact and not opinion when all he does is state his own opinion and the course material is framed to support his liberal agenda. I don't care if professors have views other than mine, I'm there to learn, but to talk trash on all republican/third party values.

The class has no midterm or final. There were weekly quizzes and tests every single class but they are only 5 minutes long and super easy if you do the reading. The class is reading heavy, sometimes you can have up to 45 pages of reading or 10 pages of reading. The professor is nice but his voice is monotonous so do not take him in the morning.

Professor Friedman is a horrible professor. He has a slow monotone voice that makes his lectures soo boring. There are quizzes and tests every class period. He makes you read extremely long readings from ages ago and expects you to understand it. You have to read it in order to take the quizzes and tests. Avoid this professor at all cost!

Definitely on the difficult side but it is worth it in terms of what you get out of it. Weekly quizzes and tests but 1 question only. 2 papers, no midterm or final. tons of EC opportunity. all he looks for is that you understand the material and you'll be fine. Take this class if you actually want to learn and are willing to put in the work. DO WEB

I hated this professor. I was in classroom section but had to switch because I could not take it. He is the rudest professor I have ever had. If he doesn't agree with you he'll totally talk over. Questions on tests and quizzes not clear and provides bad feedback. Has rude replies to questions. Does offer a lot of EC, but at the worst times.

There are 3 sections you can chose to be in, studio, classroom, and online. In the studio section you have to take a quiz, participate in class, and write news article summaries. The quizzes are very simple as long as you know the definitions to the vocab words and the summary of each reading. I would recommend taking the SI class. CHOOSE STUDIO!

This class wasn't nearly as horrible as I expected. His reviews are horrible, but he's honestly not that bad. Yes, theres a quiz and test weekly, but they're not that difficult. Yes, he assigns a lot of reading, but a couple of weeks in, I realized all you really have to do is skim the reading and you should be able to answer the quiz question.

BORING! Gives an hour long lecture in a low monotone voice about recent events instead of going by a syllabus. He lets you either be a studio student, classroom student, or web student. Choose web! I hate web classes but it's definitely a must for this class. 1 test and 1 quiz a week. Gives out a ton of reading for test but only asks one question!

Super easy A. Loved the class, some lectures were boring but you probably could miss the boring ones completely and still pass. Very charismatic professor

Even though I got an A- in the class I didn't enjoy my time. The class is divided in 3 sections: studio, classroom and online. There are quizzes every Tuesdays and test on Thursdays and they are 5 min long. Quizzes are based on assigned readings and test are based on passed lectures. 2 papers, no final or midterm. Books were expensive.

I feel as if his lectures don't correlate to what we are reading. He starts off the class with recent news, he spends about half the class just going off on recent news. TONS of reading all for one question on a quiz and one question on a test. No final. Avoid taking his class if you can!!

Keeping up with the reading is a MUST for this class. I took the classroom section and there was a quiz every Tuesday and a test every Thursday. However there is no final. Generally the quizzes and tests were easy. But keeping up with the reading was somewhat difficult.

Class generally consisted of going over the assigned reading from the previous class, and current events. Sometimes he'd spend most of the class talking about a current event, which I was personally okay with, but sometimes it was hard to see how it was relevant to the assignments. He's more liberal but I don't think he was unreasonable about it.

Pretty liberal, which can be annoying if you're conservative or moderate. Tons of reading, which you are quizzed on weekly and it is 50% of your grade. Weekly tests on "lecture", which is 37.5%. 2 essays which are 12.5% of your grade. Didn't learn much. Spends a lot of time on current events. Wouldn't take his class again.

All he does is talk about what is going on in the news and try to connect government with it. A lot of reading, but the quizzes have one question based on one of the readings that were assigned. Tests are based on lectures, also one question. So boring! Just talks about whatever comes up.
