As a few of the previous reviews have said; Nice professor, helpful, but the class material is awful. 3/4 of the students usually skipped. Basically just a walk-through of access/excel/etc. Also, myitlab (the program used for this lab portion) is still stuck in the stone age of IE-only. Good professor, horrible class.

I'm thoroughly convinced that he has the worst job ever. He's nice, but the material he's forced to teach is really dry. He does his best to make it interesting by adding stories. No one shows up for his class, which is sad.

Not pretty at all. The class was a snore, but he did the best he could. There's only so much that you can do with the subject matter you had to work with. Worth going for the in-class assignments. Follow along or go up front to do the homework if you can, then you'll get some use out of this half of the class.

True, his class is very boring, but most students are just ****s and don't give him enough credit. His job is to walk the class through MyITLab homework one day a week. How exciting can that be? Just because a class is boring doesn't mean he's worth hating on. If you don't want a free 100% homework grade, don't attend, but i appreciate it.

I took CIS 105 with him and McCarthy... we would have Keim on certain days and McCarthy on other days. He is an awful professor and incredibly boring, but how exciting can you make Microsoft Acess? He means well, and will try to crack a joke occasionally.. but in the end going to his class is useless.

Extremely dull class. But attendance is a must. There are in class assignments. Only worth about 10 points but they do add up. Bring homework or something to do in class. A few kids in my class would watch the game or something. Good idea!

SOO BORING. No need to go to class unless there is a suprise in class assignment. You don?t get tested on his lectures so there is no point in going. But at least he is not hard. For his portion of the class, you have to do myitlab which is practicing working with word, excel, and mostly access (databases).

This professor is EXTREMELY boring. You should still go to class because there may be in-class assignments, but my suggestion would be to pop your headphones in and do the assignments because the information he says is generally useless. The online assignments are really easy, but time-consuming.

Boring lectures, but easy work. Not a whole lot to complain about there. Do homework during class. If you miss in class assignments, that'll hurt you

I was very surprised to read all of these comments. Prof. Keim was very helpful after class and if you listen to what he says during his lectures, everything is CRYSTAL CLEAR! Class was easy and most of it was just common sense, so just STUDY and you'll get an A+!

Comment:
I'm not sure why accounting majors have to take this course, especially since most of the material covered seems to assume a deep level of cis knowledge. Keim reads from a powerpoint, and barely looks up during the entire class. Most of the time skipping the class and just reading the powerpoint later was the best option.

I must say, I have no idea why this man is still teaching. He hates the school, bad mouths the Dean of the college and obviously has no interest in the topic. I know he reads these, so let me ask you Dr. Keim, "Why don't you find a new job?"

Since I already had intimate knowledge of SQL -- I got lucky.Read right off the power points. Wandered off-topic. Expectations on assignments were often unclear and poorly written. I found myself frequently helping my classmates as the lectures were not adequate for those who aren't very technical.
