You need to attend EVERY class session to get your info b/c that's the only reference he will provide for his HANDWRITTEN test/quiz/final with an occasion of maybe 2 questions from 4 HEAVY-READING books. He is V bias & EVEN admits it, V picky with feedback. Whoever says he helps, IS A LIE. He will look at you strangely for even asking. DONT TAKE!!

Great professor! Dr. Mead has an amazing ability to summarize thousands of years of economic development and share a coherent connection between economic events. Lecture attendance are a must because everything said will be reflected on an exam. If I could redo anything, I would have put more into the early essay assignments to get more feedback.

Overall, not too difficult of a class. As long as you read before coming into class, the concepts will be easier to understand. However, the multiple choice on the tests are pretty difficult. As long as you study hard, you should be fine. Ended up with an A- despite average exam and quiz scores.

Lectures very boring while trying to get class to participate. Not very good at explaining. Hard grader on 2 essays. Quizzes are easy if you know the problem set. Test are hard make flashcards and know the online multiple choice. I didnt read and ended with a B I would suggest to read though because the people that did obviously did better.

I took his Economies of the Pacific Rim in fall 2013 and it was one of my favorite courses. I did a term paper on Japan's economic history. The course is a lot of work, but you will come away with a good understanding of the Pacific Rim region, which is of such vital importance to us today in the global economy. Definitely loved the course!

Don't take this one if you can. He is very hard on grading. 3, 700 page textbooks that must be memorized verbatim or you will fail his tests. Study guides have almost no relation to tests and he grades papers very tough. Lectures have almost no relation to tests. Very interesting class and professor is smart, but the class is put together poorly

I would avoid this professor if I could. Class consists of 1 quiz, 1 midterm, 1 Final, and a 8-10 page paper that he will grade you harshly on. I put my all on the paper, expecting an A, and he gave me a 77. Tests are not multiple choice. He assigns readings and he will test you on them. Get ready to work for a B at least b/c the class is that hard

Class consisted of midterm exam, 10 page research paper, and final. Most of the questions for the midterm and final were taken directly from the lecture so take good notes! About 1/4 of the questions were from the readings. He curves the overall class grade at the end.

Not good at explaining, so outside help (classmates/tutor) might help (if they know what they're talking about). He grades hard on his essays. Do your problem sets and know how to do them - they'll pull you through on quizzes. Know the concepts he focuses on in class for tests(multiple choice SUPER HARD), tests are actually pretty straightforward.

Overall a very good teacher that assigns weekly online homework. There was 2 midterms and 2 short papers that weren't very difficult. He also gives a lot of practice questions and practice problems to use for the exams! Study what he gives you and you will pass.

Class is composed of 3 things. Midterm, long Paper, and Final (Quiz is irrelevant). He thinks this is the only class you are taking and makes you read and memorize 3 400 pg books that are far too boring. Will ask you VERY specific questions from each book and expects you to know it. AVOID THIS PROFESSOR!!! he is helpful but EXTREMELY hard to pass.

He makes an easy subject very difficult. The lectures are very dry and rambly so you may have a hard time staying awake. For an econ teachers he definitely isn't the most "efficient" teacher of material. Tests and quizzes are tough if you don't do the practice problems and he is a very nit picky grader. Don't recommend

Don't take this class if you can avoid it. Grade is comprised of a quiz, exam, final, and paper. Exams are all free response and based on lecture and reading. He expects you to read 3 books front to back. You won't know your grade until after the final so it's all up in the air.

DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS! The only good thing that came out of this class was me realizing I want to change majors. Make sure you take advantage of the Mihaylo tutoring center. Study the problem sets he gives you and study all the vocabs for the exam. The final will be cumulative and hard! But worry not! The final could be passed with constant prayer

The material itself was difficult but going to class every day and making sure you take good notes are the keys to passing this class. He helps you out big time by giving you optional* problems to do that are basically whats on the quizzes and a portion of the test. Hes very clear in his lectures and you must review. You will work hard to get an A

Professor Mead's class is difficult, but Micro Econ is a complex subject. His class is interesting. If the student is willing to work then you will be successful. He is beyond helpful and always makes time for his student's. Strongly recommend going to his office hours, he is a very nice guy and finds sincere interest in helping his students.

1 quiz, midterm, final, 1 paper. Great guy, terrible teacher. He expects you to know everything in 3 books about 700 pgs each- picks random things from them for his tests. No study guides! Lectures are long & boring and the reading will put you to sleep. Dont take this class if you can avoid it or take good notes - test questions from lectures too.
