I had his class 2004-last semester before graduation.I HATED him,so smug&rude during class.I avoided meeting with him privately until the very end & I found that he was a little kinder. Genuinely interested in educating people, teaching how to think. I learned more in his class than any other. I am proud to have completed his legendary class:)

First things first...this guy is not some spring chicken..HOWEVER, don't believe all the negatives reviews..the whole class consisted of writing a paper due at the end of the semester, taking a "final" (which he gave 100 to everyone), and doing a chapter presentation with 2 other people..THATS ALL. He takes attendance but people skip. stick with it

For those of you who are planning on taking this course or the Entrepreneurship class (MGT 4310), make sure that you write up your paper every week and make an appointment to see him in order to ensure you get your A. His grading system is A or an F. No gray area. No point in going to class since he discusses other people's papers. Not an Easy A.

There is 3 online tests (the lowest one gets dropped, so if you score well on the first two you don't have to take the final) and a paper. The paper has to be very specific, emphasis on specific. The class is not hard. You have to write a paper and a revision every week before attending class. To get an A be very detailed! You'll do fine.

I took this class in 2001. Several things prospective students must know: The professor is knowledgeable but nasty to students..he must enjoy belittling others; he works students so hard only because he uses the end product (all the case studies)to create manuscripts for publication that bears his name as author (quite an egomaniac).

You have 3 papers to write the whole semester and you can see him as many times for help. Students need to stop complaining because an A is not spoon fed. You just have to put your effort. Make sure you have what he wants in each section. He just wants you to think on your own without him giving you all the answers. Class is worth the work.

The most logical, caring professor I ever had. I'm an ex-marine and you can compare this course with boot camp, in two ways: It's hard; You will never forget waht you learn, and what you learn is far more than just worth it. Wish this was the 1st class given.

This Prof. has ruined my opinion of a SJU MBA Ed. To think that they still allow him to teach after so many complaints makes me nauseaus. Tenure should be abolished. Be careful, complain early. He will mislead you into thinking that your paper needs minor changes and then hit you at the end that you're totally off so that he can give you an INC.

DO NOT TAKE HIM. STAY FAR AWAY. He's intelligent, with many academic credentials (He went to Harvard and Columbia), but his class criteria is unnecessary. He tries to get the most out of his students, but grossly fails...his approach is counterintuitive, stay away unless you do not work full-tiume.

Do not take this class if you can help it. Mockler enjoys putting the students through torture. You learn nothing, and you actually hate coming to class. He seems to enjoy berating students. His expectations are not clear, and the format of the paper does not follow any style that makes sense. It is his own style. He is in the wrong field. Listen!
