Loved his class! Because this was a heath care ethics class and I am in nursing I found the class very focused on what I needed to learn about and what would apply to me in real life situations. There were minimal readings prior to class with lots of on class discussions so be prepared to participate!

Although Robert is an entertaining lecturer at times, I found his grading criteria extremely unclear. Even when approached personally, Robert's grading criteria remained a mystery to me. He seemed to operate off the basis that 100% was impossible. It's easy to get an A- in Robert's classes, but anything higher is almost unattainable.

Robert is an amazing person. He's cheerful, engaging, and can explain anything in an amicable way. I think if I had to do what essentially amounted to word-math with any other professor, I would have flopped, but Robert made it work. Just an overall amazing person. :)

Robert is a very inspiring professor. He is obviously passionate about the courses he teaches and a great human being. Seriously, he makes you think, to look at the world in the ways you never thought before. It was a great experience being in his classes. I learned so much from him. If I had more time in VIU, I would take his class every semester.

Truly one of Malaspina's greatest assets. Other profs should take notes from him on how to be a good teacher. An AMAZING man, passionate about the subject, will entertain any idea and never make you feel stupid. Excellent solicitor of classroom discussion. I literally never talk in class but I am one of the main contributors in his!
