While a great person, the style of the course is not ideal. Rather than learning to use the French language actively, the course is dedicated to working out of a workbook. It is unfortunate that there are not other opportunities to attain course content as this would help students who learn in different ways. Good guy, bad class exexution.

Kind of unorganized, but a good prof. He has a great understanding of the material , should really do your readings to get the full extent of the class. Very last minute, probably only find out about tests the week before if your lucky, normally the class before. Go to class, at least skim the readings and you'll be okay.

Prof Proulx is a genuinely nice person.. took some members of our class on a weekend trip to Montreal, which was fun. The course itself is pretty easy.. pretty much just doing grammar exercises out of a workbook, which gets tedious. But M. Proulx is funny and makes the class enjoyable.

TERRIBLE, TERRIBLE PROF! I can't believe he is getting paid to do what he does! You could learn the same thing by reading the text book. He does no teaching aside from being quick to point out when you're wrong. His attitude is terrible and so is his sense of humor. He even likes you less if you don't enjoy the same television programs. SO BORING!!

True enough he does have his favorites but even if you're not one of them, if you try hard and are willing to work for it he is more than willing to help you do well. He's very enthusiastic about life and learning and that helps when you're trying to succeed in his classes

I really like Proulx. He's super funny and really outgoing and fun. We have good times in his class. He seems really open and really friendly. I think if you work hard, you'll get results.

The man chooses favorites and is a pompous a** about teaching the french language. If you're not from Quebec or don't speak french as a second language, then in his view you shouldn't even try to learn it. Take Delpeche, not this guy.
