Explained everything very well, helped me find topics when I had trouble thinking of a good one, and motivated me to do very well in a class I was not looking forward to taking. Reid helped make it my favorite course I have ever taken. By the way, this page is wrong about his name- it is spelled "Reid", not "Ried".

Point of fact, ladies and gentlemen. Ried's maxims that he came up with are actually taken from greats in history (Socrates). If you're halfway decent at asskissing and pretty good at public speaking before you came into the class they you'll get a good grade. If you see him on campus, steer clear. He'll talk your ear off for as long as you'll let him. He knows everything about everything, so if he asks you a question that you know more than he does, be sure to exploit it and prove that he's wrong!

Reid was very helpful when choosing my thesis topic- he pointed to some research and even set-up interviews. He seems intimidating, but can see through someone who's interested in Com and someone who needs a credit.
