We all talk about how bad some of our high school teachers were, but Professor Schlack is by far the worst I've experience. He cannot teach for his life and is super quiet SPEAK UP! I basically have been teaching myself because you get nothing from his class. Words cannot describe how horrible his teaching skills are.

I absolutely loved Schlack! Scared the crap out of me the first day but as long as you make a good impression the first time you meet him and you participate, he'll love you. Keep up with reading and have educated responses and you'll do fine. He definitely is an environmentalist and does what he preaches. However, beware of the hip thrusting.

He is intelligent and has a good understanding of the economy however he is VERY rude. If you do not know the answer, he gets upset with you and waits for you to answer the question. He makes many students feel stupid because they do not know what he knows.

Honestly, he's not the strongest guy in the Econ department. He comes in under the influence of god knows what and drones on for an hour. That being said, he's a forgiving grader. Just pray Michigan does well in football.

He had a rep when I was there 10 years ago. However for whatever reason we got a long great. I witnessed some other peoples frustration with him, but honestly they deserved it. I thought he was a cool guy, I had econ, stats, and environmental econ with him during j term where there was only 5 of us in the class.

I can see why this guy would get a bad reputaion, he is hard and may be confusing at times. But ACTUALLY read the book and come to class prepared and it will be a breeze! I think he is pretty good and if you actually care about your education, you should do just fine!

He was the worst teacher that I have ever had. I had him for night class with only three other people. If he called and you and you didn't know the answer he would wait until you found it in the book. we waited over a 1/2 hour one time because this girl was being stubborn and didn't want to look up the answer. Do not take a class with this man.

Generally I'm pretty open minded about teachers, but Schlack is the worst I've ever had. No one in his classes understands basically a word he says and it's truly a skill to stay awake for the whole hour and five minutes, plus however long he delays class afterwards. Worst thing is that he will go off on students for no reason at all. Please be aware, for your own sake.
