Avoid if possible! If you must take him, do not miss Friday's at the very least. Connect is very easy, 3 try's and the answers are shown on the 3rd.

It is definitely not a hard class. Read the materials before class and it will help you understand what he is talking about in class. I am not the smartest person in the would and I ended with an A in the coarse from just reading the material. He is helpful when you come to his office hours but he is a jerk. Does not respond to questions in class.

The homework is the dumbest thing put together that I have ever seen for one of these courses. It gives you a one time "check my work" and doesn't even help you understand why you got what you got wrong. How is that supposed to help us when the teacher is going over nothing but pre written worksheets in the class? Doesn't even give us time to copy.

Take him as a last resort. Pop quizzes usually once a week, but he'll let you work with classmates (most of the time). Tests are pretty hard & nothing like the homework. Book is necessary for in class assignments and also because he expects you to read the chapter & know all material beforehand. Not helpful when you ask homewrk questions in class.

Severance is getting a lot of bad reviews but I didn't think he was that bad. I got a C, could've done better with more effort. The material made sense in class and on the homework assignments, but when tests came around, I got C's on every one. We used the text book EVERY DAY for practice problems and examples. *Go to class & do assignments!*

Talks very quietly and is hard to hear. If you ask a question in class he gets very defensive and will not help clarify something, even if nearly the whole class is asking for clarification.

He is not helpful at all. I am not sure this was his first year teaching graduate level class or not. But he couldn't answer most of the questions students asked during class. He got very passive aggressive whenever someone asked questions he didn't know the answers to. It was very annoying and confusing. Avoid his classes.

If you don't mind reading the book and taking advantage of office hours, you'll be fine! Attendance isn't mandatory, but he likes to give pop quizzes when the class looks empty (esp. on Fridays). He doesn't seem super helpful in class, but if you go to his office hours, he'll work the homework out with you step-by-step. Also, you need the book.

This class is totally do-able as long as you keep up with the homework's and study for the exams. I did not go to class every time, but I should have because then I would have definitely gotten an easy B. He has in class quizzes, but they are at random. Just keep up with the work. The material itself is difficult but he does his best. So sweet.

Terrible class to begin with, and a professor who isn't helpful or welcoming at all. Please please PLEASE take it with someone if at all possible. I managed to get a B, but not without quite a lot of self-teaching on my part. Tests hardly correspond w/ homework (which is challenging by itself soooo) just do yourself a favor & take w/ someone else.

I had taken Accnt 2361 before and bombed it, so maybe it's just cause its my 2nd go at it, but I loved Severance for Summer. He teaches the stuff you'd actually use in a business instead of every chapter in the book. Knows his stuff and uses great teaching techniques to really get the point across. Expecting a B in a class I failed before.

Nothing that he lectured in class is on the exams. I literally had to teach myself accounting by reading the book. He had good reviews last year but they suck this year. Im assuming he went through something recently. Though that's still no excuse.. I give him an F. I am #32 in the class out of #219 .. and my grade is a low C = top 14% in the class

Teaches directly off PowerPoint and (doesn't tell you)he uses questions in Self Testing section of WileyPLUS on tests. Tests barely pertain to what's explained and even attending every day didn't help mine or my friends grades. Quizzes easy but only worth 5% & nothing like test questions, homework barely saved my own self from failing. TAKE ANOTHER

Absolutely the WORST most inefficient professor I've taken to date. Does not lecture whatsoever, is very rude for whatever unknown reason, and not very helpful during office hours. You can learn more by studying on your own and using google than by going to class. Don't expect his exams to be easy either. For your own sake, somebody else.
