Deceit & Self-Deception, taught from his book on the subject. Trivers is obviously one of the smartest people in the field and his classes are very informal and engaging. Can get personal and somedays we didn't learn anything and just talked, but overall it was an amazing educational experience. Very easy grader if you show you actually care.

Dr. Trivers is widely renowned for his work in social evolution, but he does not communicate his knowledge to students very well. He is funny at times, but he gets lost in what he says and will give information that is useless to the course. You must attend lectures to do well on the tests

worst lecturer I have EVER experienced. He is nice and I commend him for his work in genetics, but it appears he is stuck in the 80's and does not know how to incorporate modern findings and science into his teaching . He rambles about unnecessary information that has nothing to do with the course and isn't applicable to ur life. I

I have to say that Professor Trivers is hilarious. He assigns weekly readings and his lectures are interesting but he can ramble and go off on a tangent. I wish that I had continued taking his anthropology class :(

Being taught by someone you have read about in previous classes was very exciting! Trivers is brilliant, but a little scattered. This was his first time teach this course, so it took a bit for him to get the hand of it, but once he did, it was great. Two exams, but he is a very easy grader. Attendance is not mandatory, but a must.

Comment:
The course material for this class was really advanced and difficult to understand, and Dr. Trivers' lectures were sometimes hit-or-miss in terms of whether they actually made it clearer. That being said, when he gives a good lecture Trivers is engaging and brilliant. Grade was based on two easy exams so reading and attendance are important.

He IS as brilliant as they say, and by "they," I mean the handful of people out there who care about social evolution. The kind of stuff he talks about: once you see it, it cannot be unseen. You will realize the truth, but for the price of irreversible social dysfunction. Like the Matrix!!

They compare him to Charles Darwin. Need I say more? He is by far the most brilliant person I've ever interacted with, but he doesn't have his head too far in the clouds (just enough for this field of study). His honesty about everything is refreshing and helpful in such a deceitful world. He's also great one on one, just amazing all around.

I mean... it's Robert Trivers. If you don't know how famous he is, perhaps you don't deserve the honor of taking his class! But seriously, the guy is a genius (and happy to tell you so himself, haha) and you'll learn things you've never even thought about before. The class is a trip. Easy A if you have a brain and worth every penny.

This class is really based on the lectures, so you have to go and pay attention if you want to do good for exams. I never read the textbook (until exam's which he has two), and attended probably around 2/3 of his lectures and wound up with a B+ for the course. To get an A, attending class is a must, however, his lectures are very entertaining.

The course was straightforward but you really have to attend lectures. I thought it'd be a good idea to just read the book a day before the exams and that wasn't the best .. Trivers can be disorganized but he's a good lecturer (from the lectures I did go to).

Highly intelligent and knowledgeable. Clearly a very kind and caring individual. Great lecturer with interesting anecdotes. Often lets class out 10-20 minutes early. Tests aren't too hard, but a fair amount is taken from his lectures that isnt in the book.

Go to every class, pay attention, and study a day or two before exam and you should get at least a B. There is a lot of material in the book that you don't need to read. He gives a study guide before the midterm and final so you'll kno wat you do and don't need in the book. Lectures are a big part of his exams.

Trivers is one of the most entertaining professors I've had at Rutgers so far. He tells funny stories that (generally) have to do with what he lecturing on. Exams aren't tough, just go to teh lectures and teh review and you'll do fine. He does curve but it's not huge. Much props to Rolando de Aguiar for putting up with being his TA.

This guy is kind of out there, but the class is really easy. I went to about half the classes, studied the night before the final (the only grade in the class), and pulled off a B. There is no book, just print-outs that you are supposed to read for each class which you really don't have to do anyway.
