His class wasn't what I expected and he seems to mumble too much. I also found that he can be quite religious and fairly anti-Catholic in his views. The worse thing for your grade is to offend him and not read the materials his class provides.

Very nice guy, knows his stuff, but tends to be a bit unclear when it comes to lectures. I had to do a LOT of research outside of class just to know the "gist" of what would be on the final exam. Still, he marks fairly, and has some fun tangents. Overall he's a great prof.

An interesting man. He knows his stuff but he tends to mumble, unless he goes on a tagent then he becomes giddy and excited like a little school girl, it's hilarious but you won't learn anything in the class, I guarantee.

Swales is a good prof however he does tend to be a bit unorganzied. His tangents are usually amusing. He can be a hard marker but he is fair. He does not make you take his point of view while writing essays, as long as you can back up your opinion .
