He definitely likes the sound of his own voice. Lectures are long but at least the material can be interesting. He is a fair marker and a really nice guy. He handed out midterm/final questions a few days beforehand but oh my god there is a lot of material covered in them.

MY goodness, what an extreme waste of good money and valuable time! I would drive 30 km and pay for parking just to listen to a long boring vapid lecture on the fall of empires, his fixation. He seems ready to fall, maybe past due date?

Loves the sound of his own voice, fancies himself better than he is, that is my take -- I studied in the UK and had never seen such intellectual vanity before, but found it here in a few places. but fair grader, i got a B plus and did nothing much lol

Dr. Wylie is super passionate and knowledgeable, however his lectures can be tiring at times. His exams are definitely challenging as he expects you to memorize/summarize quite large chunks of texts, but he gives you ample time to prepare. This course may be more challenging for those taking it within their first semester so plan accordingly!

Dr. Wylie is definitely the best professor I have ever had. He is a real scholar, very knowledgeable and sophisticated in the subjects he is teaching. I am sure you will find your time spent on his excellent lectures so worthwhile! He is strict but fair in grading, so you will be fine if you work hard and attend the classes. Highly recommend him!

Before I start, do note that he does his teachings in a different way than most teachers do. He puts topic headings on the board and then puts sub-topics below them on what he's talking about. There are no powerpoint notes or any of that jazz. You need to take notes by hand as he speaks. I suggest a laptop for this course. Otherwise, good teacher.

Best professor ever! I took Prof. Wylie's class for my first semester, and he let me know what a true scholar is! Mr. Wylie is so knowledgeable and his lectures are interesting, informative, and insprational! He really cares about his students, always there for you whenever you have questions. That's why I took 2 more of his classes this term!

He is a great professor!Helpful and understanding, very accommodating if you are a student with a learning disability. Robin is very helpful if you need clarification on any of the assignments, essays are fairly easy and straightforward and gives you a sheet with options for the questions on the exams which you get to choose from and memorize.

Could better match what he teaches to what he tests. Kind of arbitrary in grading, but easy A for me, despite learning little. A mediocre prof, nothing alarming, but, meh!

Some of Robin's assignments - especially the exams - are quite challenging. They take a lot of work and don't really have anything to do with his lectures or the textbook, both of which I ended up just ignoring. That said, he is very kind, knowledgeable and approachable. I think he's a very fair grader and rewards good work. I learned a lot.

Dr. Wylie's lectures are long and his monotone voice will put you to sleep on most days. There is a mandatory group seminar presentation, and also a question session. Otherwise, he is more than happy to help if you are having difficulties in class; just show up during his office hours and he'll answer whatever questions you have.

Robin is an amazing professor and I am excited every time one of his classes are available to me He is clever, and really knows what he is talking about, there are few to no questions that stump him. He appreciates classroom participation a lot, but doesn't grade based on it.
