I heard horrible stories about this class and did not want to take it, but it was not what everybody talks about. Yes it is hard and you have to put forth effort and study but overall it is not a bad class. Carlson is a great teacher. He is so intelligent that it is hard to understand him when he teaches. But rumor is he is retiring this year and I

Father Quantoid is quite full of himself. His stuttering is distracting, but (like Shakespeare) after listening for a while, it goes away. I got chewed out for making an 81% - only 1 person in class made higher - odd behavior for someone who fails a considerable number of his students. Nice enogh fellow - just quirky.

Quant is a really easy class. I've got a B so far. Carlson is why people make C and D. But 25 years ago, students were smarter and more skilled than you are today (so he says), so that probably plays a role. Just work really hard, you might say.

Great guy, a little difficult to understand. Did ok in the class. He talks about how students today can't think critically. I think he's right. He's ok though. I'd probably take him again.

Study hard. That what you do in college. Back 30 years ago, students didn't have the luxuries that you do now. Computers make it much easier for you, yet you study less.

t-t-talks about how they used to think abstractly. That we dont really learn. I guess they got so abstract and condascending that thay had to get PHD's to stay in their own litle false academic reality. Crappy never know your grade till finals type class.

He stutters too much and he has called my class dumb stupid idiots, and that we are at Tech because we couldn't get into Yale or Harvard, and he also mentions we are business students because we arn't smart enough to be engineers, he's not teaching it!

Gives credit for effort. Talks about school back in the day. How he would read books 2 years in advance and then sell them to someone who didn't have then. Changes subjects a lot, that's annoying. Doesn't give schedule of tests/homework so be prepared!

He's very arogant in class and tries to do no more than show off. Actaully told some students in my class that they could not ask any more questions, and that we had to figure it out on our own. I thought it was his JOB to expalin stuff like that....

Called me out in class to race him in a critical path exercise or something. He is good, but I beat him, much to the chagrin of the class. He then got cocky and said let's see how you like the test. What a douchebag.

He's not that bad. His tests are long and hard, but you get one full page front and back cheat sheet, and you might even get to use your book. He is boring, but he's also nice and gives lots of partial credit. I would take him again.
