I'll be honest and say this guy isn't the friendliest. I went to one of his help sessions and he criticized me and said I was learning the whole subject wrong and I won't go far in chemistry. However, he gave solid advice on how I could improve my learning. He's very blunt but he means well, and he absolutely loves the material he teaches.

The other professors for this course in addition to him were Browning and Winnik. This guy was the worst of them all. He taught the last third of the course and I literally stopped going cause of him and read the textbook instead. Best decision ever. Also, very monotonous and talks about irrelevant details (like the history). Also, DO PAST TESTS!!!

Great professor! I found his lectures very clear and engaging, and the slides are well organized. The material is challenging, but he has a genuine interest in helping students understand it. I enjoy his stories about historical figures/discoveries -- they may not seem particularly relevant, but are interesting and help to remember the material.

Very cocky and arrogant. Demands respect, doesn't work for it. Rambles on and on about insignificant crap and doesn't spend enough time teaching lecture material. Chemistry is something you need to actively learn. No one comes to class to listen to him sing his praises and be a know-it-all. We want to learn organic chemistry.

He's an excellent professor! He spends time to tell you the background for many of the breakthrus made over the past century and I always found his explanations engaging. He may go through material very quickly, but as long as you study hard and review supplementary info and the textbook on the material hes presented you will do fine in this course

You must not take this course, otherwise you'll be screwed up. Time consuming and low grade as compared to CHM343. Everyone do not repeat my real experience in this course.

Has some attitude problems. Doesn't really answer student questions even if there are office hours. Tests are just pure regurgitation of structures so if you have a good memory, you'll do fine.

Very smart guy, but an Abominable teacher...just AWFUL. spent more time telling egotistical stories than actually doing class material, and when he did, he'd take the "don't you see how this works, you idiots" approach. Which was infuriating and demeaning.

Not a good prof though he might be if he spent more time organizing his lectures. I did not dislike him personally he was approachable and helpful on an individual basis. But not a good teacher he needs to work on that.
