Rosa is a great first year Spanish prof! Granted, I did a little bit of Spanish in high school, but I found this course incredibly easy with Rosa. She literally tells you exactly what's going to be on the tests, there are no surprises. The only *negative* is that she always expects you to bring the textbook to class.

Rosa is like your second mother, but the Spanish version. She is very fluid with her lectures and it's clear she has been teaching this course for quite some time. This course is based entirely on memorization, so if you put the work in you'll likely get the results your looking for. Best of luck

Although Rosa seems to have great ratings, i feel this is because she is a funny kind woman, not a great prof. I took spanish 100a with her, and found she wasted lots of class time, when she could have covered a lot more spanish. You are expected to do quite a lot of work/memorization at home, which ends up taking lot of time. Not an easy class.

I took SPAN100A and 100B with Rosa. Both good courses, however 100B requires a lot more effort than 100A. She is an interesting prof and tries to make the course fun/entertaining. Also uses the textbook every class.

Love, love, love Profesora Stewart!!! I would take any class with her again if I enjoyed learning a language! Spanish was fairly easy if you can do the memorization. Know that it is a grammar course!!! Lots and lots of memorization. Go to class and do the given homework and you should be fine!

Really fun class, señora stewart is hilarious. I had taken spanish up to grade 11 so I took 100A as an easy elective and it was an awesome choice. showing up to class is really helpful and she is very clear about what is going to be on the tests. She is a hard marker in that you need to spell correctly and use accents properly but it was fair.

Profesora Stewart is byfar the best teacher I've ever had! She told us exactly what would be on each quiz and exam, and was willing to help out when people didn't understand. Also made the class a fun place to be. Definitely recommend her!

Read good reviews, but was not satisfied. She marked quite hard and expected everyone to have prior experience with Spanish. I did not know any Spanish before this class and she made it hard for me. Would not give me a tenth of a percent to get an A-….

I cant believe people are saying these things. We did the same thing every single class which was read the textbook.. There is no variety and no other materials. I know everyone did really bad in her class because her exams are unreasonably difficult. She even admitted she was one of the hardest markers. I would never take her class again.

Prof. Stewart was one of my favorite teachers for sure! She was always friendly, and encouraged participation. The best part about her class was how straight forward it was. She tells you exactly what you need to know on every quiz, midterm and final. HIGHLY reccommend taking a Spanish course with her :)

LOVE LOVE LOVE!!! She is an AMAZING language prof! She makes each class super fun to be in, although there's always some participation involved so DO YOUR HOMEWORK. Absolutely wonderful prof! She's super fun in class - makes the time go by very quickly. She's very cute and her stories always make me laugh. Do the exercises in the text and the minutes in the Call centre and you will be fine. One of my favorite classes for sure!

Incredible prof and one of my favourites at UVic! Chose this class because she taught 100A and inspired me to continue. She makes jokes and makes Spanish more interesting than it usually is. Her tests are fair if you study and good grades are not difficult to get.

Rosa is the best teacher I've ever had. I have taken Spanish before so this course was super easy, but she explains things way better and more clearly than previous teachers I've had. She is such a sweetheart and SO funny. She tells stories about her travels in Spain and Latin America and they're hilarious. Love this lady to bits
