Mr. Ross Baker is a one of a kind. He is knowledgeable, he knows what he is doing, but what makes him different from other professors is that he doesn't look the students like bunch of student numbers, he knows everyone by their names and if you show him that you want to succeed he would support you. I wish I had him for all my other subjects too!

Ross Baker is a great professor and do not take that to your advantage. He knows that we all want to succeed, so show some work for it and he will get you right back. He is very approachable and most importantly he is very knowledgeable about his subject.

He is very easy going and approachable. Assignments and tests are pieces of cakes. Explain things very clear, however, his powerpoints and notes are all over the place. I may take another course with him for my electives.

Dr. Baker exhibits a caring and professional attitude towards his students. He makes concepts clear and easy to understand with lots of examples. My avg for the 2nd test went up dramatically after his advice on how to organize studying. He displays enthusiasm for the course and a desire to help his students learn which makes him a great teacher!

Dr. Baker is an absolute sweetheart. He?s down to earth, genuine, understanding and knowledgeable. I was terrified coming into this class because I didn?t know much about EATS. His tests were more than fair; he gave lots of hints on what some of the short answer questions would be on the tests. I wish I were an EATS major now! FANTASTIC prof!

I like his teaching style which is interesting, organized. He is willing to help his students and you can always ask that you don't understand. He reply email so fast and communicative with his students. After finish final, he raised marks for all although the exam was easy. Easy & Interesting course, Great Prof.

He's a really sweet person, willing to go the extra mile to help his students (organizes chat rooms on moodle etc). However, his exams are tricky multiple-choice questions. Mandatory to read his lecture slides! He also shows "interesting" demos in lecture and acts overly excited! Overall- decent prof.

Comment:

Ross Baker is one of the best professors at York teaching today. He always goes the extra mile for his students and he tries to make sure that everyone has a clear understanding. Some peole may not like his teaching style, but for anyone who likes to be treated like an adult and not a high school kid, then Baker is the teacher to have.

the course (nats 1840) has nothing to do with Science, Technology or the Environment. it's entirely centered around physics (his speciality) and space. do not let the course description fool you. but if you like physics then go ahead. i would also mention that he does not use a textbook and that his slides are disorganized.

He is sooo helpful and i recommend him to anyone taking physics. He is the best instructor yet and i think he is sooo damn hot with his untamed features and big belly.Way to go Rossy. ALERT: He gets overly excited when demonstrating and sweats like crazy so watch it and stay back before u get washed
