Comment:

Class ever taken, be prepared to write at least 2 papers per week and never get good grades. Tests are the hardest thing in the world, all essay questions which he counts off for everything. Test averages were well below passing grades. He does help if asked, and likes to makes students feel worthless.

Comment:

Toughest Prof I ever had. He was also the most helpful prof I ever had in college. South students feared taking finance and would choose Accounting instead because of Dr. Dickens. Take the challenge to pass his class and you will reap the benefits. Because of Dr. Dickens I went on to a successful career and passed several FINRA Exams with ease.

"if you wanted to pass this class, you have to have nightmare every night". This was his statement in the beginning of the class. So, be prepared for nightmare. He is helpful and help his student if you go and ask.

i had 2 tk him twice. both times he gv me a D. The 2nd time was after i'd ALREADY graduated. He knocked off 2 points for not putting a slash through a zero. This man is heartless. I made As & Bs in all other finance classes, including his. Why was it so hard for me to pass this one? Now this will be the 3rd time I have to take this class. Thanks.

I learned more about finance in this class than the rest of my college career combined. Not an easy class, but it's not supposed to be. Dr. Dickens is a great professor and if you really work hard in this class and make a good grade, you'll actually walk out having mastered the subject.

He is an amazing teacher!!! He does expect a lot from his students. This is a very difficult class but he gives you all the material you need to do the problems. He assigns homework for the entire semester, my advice is do it because he takes his quiz from homework problems. He gives you plenty of opportunities to earn extra credit. Great teacher!!

I wished I would have taken a different teacher. He gave us a lot of busy work. I didn't feel challenged, just over worked. Word of advice, avoid him. I felt like I only learned that tenure should be re-examined.

He was very moody. Some days on top of the world, some days you were scum. Began the semester with introducing his religious beliefs which is unusal given the diversified nature of our class. I could lived all my life happy without having taken his class. I believe he only teaches undergraduate now. Definitely a good idea on the school's part.

Prof. Dickens is a cool prof. He does see if you're there each day, not calling roll, but he makes notes. Exams come off of old exams so he gives those to you to study which is helpful. It's really hard to fail. I was just lazy, could've got a B at least. Gives EC work which is always good.

Dr. Dickens demands the best from each student. He is very helpful and wants his students to learn. He does give a lot of homework (does not have to be turned in) and if you don't do it, you will not make a good quiz grade. He is willing to work any homework problem the next day in class. Great teacher, but be prepared to work hard an learn.

He would yell at us in class. If you ask for clarifaction he would say that you were unqualified. He gives a lot of essays that grammar and active voice are more important than the finance aspect. By far one of the worst class experiences I have ever had.

Best business professor at USA. He challenges students, but is always available and willing to help those who seek it. Daily quizzes help you understand the material better and also helps your final grade. I learned more from Dr. ****ens than in any other finance class.

The best teacher in college of business by a mile. The knowledge in his field is superior, the intensity and challenge level are high. If you don't like to read book, do homework, like to have easy life, never ever take him. Want to learn some finance 315, or other classes, the best source of knowledge. The best thing, is breaking down formulas

He is a great professor...definitely knows what he is talking about. He is always available if you ever need help--you can call him at home or at his office. If you don't like to be challenged do not take his class!!! I took him in the summer and it was my world for the entire month. I truly learned more in his class than any other at South.

If you want to really learn something take his class. He challenges his students and if you are not up for a challenge then don't take his class. He gives quizzes everyday to make sure no one is slacking. I worked my ass off and made an A. He is the best teacher at the business school by far.

He's a great teacher, but his class is super hard. Quizzes everyday based on previous night's homework. Don't take class for granted and study for everything. If you have questions he'll definitely help you. Oh yeah, make sure you know the daily DJIA closing.

GREAT teacher! Very nice guy, but pretty difficult. I spent more time in his office asking questions than I did in class. Goes out of his way to help students. First few tests aren't too bad if you really, really study, but final is rough. Quizzes everyday based on night before's homework. Know DJIA for extra credit on all quizzes and tests.
