horrible lecturer, nothing very important to say aside from a summary of the reading. the book is nothing great. exam is very easy although it was not performed well by others. presentations for both essays. takes attendance but doesnt count for participation. very useless and boring mandatory anthro course.

Very interesting and well informed professor on the topic. I enjoyed the class, but it is A LOT of work. Definitely worth taking, but be prepared for the workload!

Great Prof, you can miss a class but he takes attendance, don't do it often. If you are present don't leave half way through the 3 hour lecture. Make sure you read the text, exams are reasonable multiple choice. If you have any questions don't be afraid to ask.

Stay out of his classes, he is BBBBBBBOOOOORRRRRRRRIIIIIIINNNNNNGGGGGG. He gives the guidelines for assignments late and does not extend the deadline. His class is very confusing.... DO NOT TAKE!!!!!!!!!

I am conflicted about this class; I loved the readings, lectures and I must admit learnt a lot. On the other hand the prof deducts marks for bogus reasons... unavailable during office hours...prof can come off as conceited...gives vague answers when questions are asked... takes forever to respond to emails!

Boring and monotone. Attendance is mandatory. Open book / open notes / open everything for mid-term exam and then final take-home exam. 2 assignments in-between. You want to stay on his good side (look attentive, do not leave during middle of course).... make it look like you are genuinely interested and he will like you.

Speaks in a boring monotone, and takes attendance. Open book for the mid-term and a take home exam for the finals for a 300 level course? Give me a break. Incorporates topics irrelevant to the course and does not mention a single thing about the readings. I had to find sources outside of class to actually understand and make sense of the readings.

Really sweet guy, really knows his stuff. I loved how he kept an up-to-date website so we knew exactly which readings to do for which class. His instructions for assignments were pretty clear, but he sometimes found bogus reasons to deduct points. Still, very interesting class and really competent professor. I'd definetly recommend him.

This was an intro class, which might explain why he often assumed we he kept the discussions on a very superficial level. He posts all the notes online and maintains a website for each class, which is very useful. He knows a lot about the local gay community and issues. I liked his soft, calm voice. Exams were ridiculously easy.

To be fair, he had never before taught this theory class. The class is dry no matter who teaches it but he made no effort to make it less dry. Intead he made comments like, "not the most interesting article/movie was it? haha." If the prof. can't even engage how am I supposed to? Also, condecending and not very avaliable.

Good teacher but EXTREMELY BORING!!!!!!!! Exams are multiple choice and very tricky... not difficult, but for someone whose first language is not english becomes very difficult. I wouldn't take him again.. and definetly not in 1st year.

wonderful prof, sweet man. very interested in topic and will help you if you need it. i enjoyed him very much and his class is what got me through my first semester. As long as you study you will do well and don't be hesitant to go see him if you need help.
