This prof's awesome if you go to class alert and ready to take notes. I learned the basics of genetics before this class obviously and I found that the way he teaches really clarified all of these concepts. He's good at simplifying the material to make it easily digestible. Studying for this class was a lot easier because I understood it in class

Comment:

First time teaching this course but for a prof with experience - I was completely unimpressed. Boring and monotone, his lectures were all over the place, some completely unrelated to the course. Seemed unapproachable when I tried to ask for clarification. His exam was easy though, provided that you studied his lecture notes.

By far the most excruciatingly boring professor I've had so far. I have no clue why this man is teaching; he's not that engaging. His slides are semi-useful in that they're all you need to study with (maybe with textbook figures), but he doesn't have much to add in what he says during lecture. I never thought I could hate this class so much.

Don't know why he is allowed to teach. He needs to retire. Puts up a few slides with pictures and then just talks the entire class. Mumbles a lot and is basically incomprehensible. If I had known how bad he was before signing up for the course, I would have taken it another semester. Only hope is pooling notes with friends, because he's useless.

great teacher. Must attend class and keep great notes as lecture notes/textbook not provided. Exams are just 4 boad questions ie) describe translation. He wants/expects every little detail. If you study no reason you shouldn't get an an A.

one of the worst profs i've had. do NOT take this class. his exams are the toughest i've ever written. he's very oldschool and needs to take on new teaching and evaluation methods. midterm is just two essay questions. lectures are just verbal, only diagrams are given. no slides, notes etc.. very picky when marking exams.

Probably the worst prof at the university of guelph. Exams/midterm question consist of extremely broad essay type questions where tons of detail is required. His lectures are brutally boring and slides are useless. Material really isnt hard, just lots of it and the prof is no help at clarifying anything. BRUTAL CLASS.

Prof. Nazar is boring and the marking is very arbitrary. Do not believe him when he says he wants two pages for take-home exam questions - write five. It helps to have friends and pool notes for this class as there is no textbook or lecture notes.
