Took this class last year and would suggest avoiding his classes if you want to get an easy pass! If you work hard, you can get a very good grade. Amazing lectures, at a good pace and with good examples. A fair grader, one of my best profs. Unfortunately, all his other courses are in french.

His tests were really hard . I almost dropped this course, but he's so encouraging , helpful and I ended up doing very well on the last test. He has a great grading scheme. I did poorly on the first 2 tests but got an average of 70% before the final! Hated the book he made us read but enjoyed his lectures. Hope the final will not be a chock for me

Ok so heres the thing: Zhou is a nice guy, but when it comes down to it, his tests are hard and he puts questions to trick you. He asks an unreasonable amount of study material, and I feel like I had to study everyday this term in order to pass. Would avoid if I was you, trying to save you of a hard semester.

Amazing lectures! I took him both in french and english, he's by far the best prof i've had at Laurentian. The definitions he gives are always accompagnied by clear examples, so it's easy to understand. His tests are not hard if you pay attention in class.

Good teaching style and good lectures! I also took his Intro in French and he's so proficient in both languages. Knowledgeable, respected and caring about students. Easily the best prof! Except that I got quite a scare from his first test. .. LOL

Amazing prof, one of my favorites so far. No cake walk, you will have to study hard for the tests but the tests are very reasonable and his marking is very leaniant. If you work hard it'll pay off and you'll get a great mark. I would recommend him to anyone, his lectures are very interesting and you'll learn tons from him.

I took Motivation with Zhou and had the worst time. I took it as an elective and it ended up being the class I was worried I'd fail. You have to somehow memorize the whole textbook, all the notes, and everything he says for the tests in order to pass/do well. Just giving fair warning- his combination of accents is also extremely hard to understand.

Best professor by far, goes above and beyond to make sure his students pass well and will help you if you go and talk to him. Must attend lectures but they are interesting. Would love to take any of his classes in the future!

I liked his clear lectures. He's always willing to help you and replies emails lighting fast. His tests were hard; you had to study a lot. Did poorly on the first one but ended up with a B+! Attendance was not mandatory, but from the self perception theory he taught us, you know you love this class because always go there. I enjoyed his class!
