Even though Ryan doesn't teach at the UofC anymore, I just wanted to say he was the best prof I've had in my time at uni! He's hilarious and makes lectures interesting with applicable life experiences and stories. RMIN 317 is a great commerce option because all of the content is so applicable to everyday life. I would recommend RMIN317.

Really good guy. Kinda scary but honestly I agree with his policy of not effing around during lectures. I felt confused pretty often during class but in the end, tests were predictable and fair so I have zero complaints. Big thanks, would definitely take another course with him if I could.

He's a great guy but no amount of charisma can make this class interesting. He hints what will be on exams in class so attendance is important. Be weary of texting or surfing the net in class; he will rip you apart if he catches you.

Ryan Lee is an awesome prof. he makes the material interesting with his insight and personal stories. the class is decently easy if you attend all the classes and skim through the notes and book. WARNING: if you touch your cell phone in class, Dr. Lee will absolutely flip on you. it's terrifying.

Get as much practice with the material (textbook questions, assignment, practice tests) because this course was challenging. Know your material thoroughly and into detail because he tests on the most unexpected things ever! Reasonable since he is the dean.. Make sure you go to class and try to pay attention. It's worth it.

Ryan's an extremely good prof that communicates the material with lots of enthusiasm. Class/textbook is mandatory. 2 midterms, and a final, no assignments. Read the text, go over slides and DO THE ASSIGNMENTS cause the written part of the exam is very similar.

He's a cool guy and he knows his stuff. His delivery of the material is solid, it's pretty dry stuff, but he delivers it with humour. He really knows his stuff and communicates it well to THOSE WHO ATTEND!

Lee taught me that there is a special clause in insurance that states that robes and rugs in a vehicle are not covered by home insurance. I wasn't bored when he did so. Best prof for the course..but Lee, you're not 21 any more. Don't try to be.

Very friendly and helpful, also doesn't make his tests too hard, but you do need to know the material. He uses stories and humor to make the class more interesting and bearable.

VERY (very!) sensitive about people talking in his class, people coming in late or people complaining if his test is too hard. I never had a problem with this since I don't think his expectation that students come on time is unreasonable. But something to keep in mind :)

Ryan is a SUPERB professor who cares deeply about students and will do what it takes to help you learn. I don’t know why, but every American that I’ve had as an instructor has been an outstanding lecturer, and Ryan was no exception. He’s also very funny, especially when it comes to discussing macabre topics such as dismemberment riders or funeral expenses. I only wish that the course was more challenging and that Dr. Lee’s hands weren’t tied. It's a shame that so many of my fellow students did not apply themselves and that the course material was consequentially watered down to appease them at the expense of those of us who want to learn. But then again, this is the University of Calgary, and I’m certain that I’m in the minority when I say that I would prefer an intellectual challenge over being spoon-fed an A. This was a textbook tyranny of the majority and an appalling tragedy on so many levels...

Makes a boring course a bit more barable. Doesnt take much to get a B...B+ Its like taking a psych course: You read your text the night before and walk in the next day and do the test.

Great professor, a very funny and down to earth guy. Tries very hard to have his students succeeed. I wouldn't say his class is easy though, you still have to study pretty hard if you want to get an A, but he doesn't make that impossible for you.
