Dr. Hileman is a very impressive professor who really knows his history. His tests aren't too bad as long as you take good notes in class. The textbook isn't required, but it is useful for studying and preparing for writing assignments. If you enjoy history, then you will really like this professor!

I had him for Hist 102 and 112. I really like 112. He KNOWS what he's talking about. It is imperative that you take good notes, and study them to do well on tests. You have to write essays but if you pay attention and take good notes you'll be fine. I recommend him if you really want to learn history!

This class was a very easy A. However, you must be on time because he starts on time every single lecture. You don't need a book so don't waste your money. He tells you up front that if he doesn't talk about, it doesn't matter. Good notes are imperative; write down everything he says.

i think he should give quizzes in between the test because the whole semester there are only two exams and then the final so you have no tine to redeem youreself you have to write down everything cause the test is only twenty questions plus an essay but you still have to srudy everything and it's a lot of notes

He's a nice guy but can be really rude to students.He hates tardy people and has failed a few for being absent and TRADY to many times. His test are okay but you really have to take down all the notes he gives in class. On tests he makes you write out five essays. Which are each worth 8pts. and you won't know which ones will be on the tests.

Hileman is a great teacher. The book is not needed if you take the class notes and study them, however the book does give you more information to get better grades on short answer. No communication with teacher though, hard to reach outside of class.
