don't bother attending lectures (monot voice + chicken scratch that no one gets) but make sure u attend EVERY LAB. read the textbook and study hard (just memo) and u'll get an A. he's nice tho and semesters later i ran into him and he remembered my name! Saf is LITERALLY the SwEeTeSt person u'll ever come across in ur life! He's so caring and he really wants u to do well. His door is always open for help and he'll always take wotever time necessary for u to undersand! His lectures r a bit confusing but just read the text & u'll be fine! labs are hella fun w/Cindy, which is another sweet person!!!

Excellent instructor. Hardest working teacher I've ever had when it comes to helping students. Knows his material very well but you'll only get out what you put into the course. Sometimes he's unclear with lecture information but is more than willing to help clarify for any student who asks for help.

Saf is a really great guy but his lecture class for 1200 is pointless, he just talks while everyone falls asleep then turns a video on and everyone compeletly passes out. Very helpful though, makes sure you know how something works before going on.

He's not the greatest teacher, in that he has trouble coming down to his students level to teach the material. However, hes a great guy, funny, and extremely nice. He goes out of his way to help individual students, and even to get to know them. I love how he pronounces *cough* the word "Soooodium!"

Anyone whos taken his class knows that any good comments he must have made himself. Even his teaching parters that do the labs think he's an idiot. May know what he's talking about-doesnt know how to teach it. Take the course though, it's just memorization-read the text, u'll ace the test.

His lectures were SOOOOOOOO boring. The room was dark, his voice was monotone and his accent was thick. I nearly fell asleep on numerous occasions. The labs were not at helpful to me. If you have a background in rock analysis, you might find it useful.
