Dr. Hathout is a wonderful prof with much to offer in the way of real world RS application experience. While his lectures may sometimes seem confusing the textbook he wrote helps to clarify key concepts. I learned a lot both from the lectures as well as open discussions during labs/classes. Bravo!

Horrible, horrible. Does not appear to know his subject at all, or at the very least, has no method of communicating himself clearly. Relative marking scheme is horrible. Very unclear questions on labs and tests; not very cleary with the coverage of exams. Thank god he is retiring.

OK,he is averynice person;always willing to help - but I don't know how effective his helping is if 1)he doesn't appear to even understand some material himself, and 2)is completely incapable of explaining any fundamental information (he's too smart for his own good). I like him (he's nice,but I would take his calsses with another prof. if I could.

Lab instructions lack any clarity whatsoever. Always willing to help but not very clear. Gets very defensive when questioned. Marks on a 'relative' scale, basically whether your right or wrong your marked based on everyone elses answers.
