Comment:

She is such a great professor and tries to engage with students as much as possible. Her class and expectations are very clear. She responds to emails in a timely matter and helps to answer any questions on concepts or understanding of material. She is a fair grader and gives great feed back!

Comment:

I earned an 89.8% as my final grade and she refused to round up to an A- and gave me a B+ instead. Clearly this speaks to the type of professor she is. No extra help. No real material besides her lectures and three books. Doesn't put in any more effort than required. Test are unnecessarily hard for the material. I regret taking this class.

She doesn't provide any resources to study for tests. She gives you small questions from the three books she assigns but it isn't that helpful. She doesn't provide lecture slides either. Lectures are long and not very interesting.

Awful. If you missed notes one day she refused to give them to you at all. She would say sorry get them from another student. Your grade is based off of reflection papers and tests. The tests were based off of entire books huge lectures and a movie. Grades horribly. No extra help ever. Avoid at all costs.

She reads off the slides so you can skip class and have a friend send you all the notes. She does not post the on canvas. Her tests are challenging but if everyone does bad she curves them. The TA is really good about having study sessions prior to the 3 exams to help everyone understand what we learned and the expectations for the exam.

This woman makes me want to minor in sociology! All her lectures are on slides (that she does not post online, so don't skip class) and there is no textbook to refer to. However, there are three books she assigns you and tests you on. Her (non-cumulative) tests can be confusing at times, but still enjoyed the class itself.

Gallagher is a good teacher, but uses skeleton slides and lectures most of her material. For some people, this may not prove to be a problem, but it made it hard for me to keep up with the material, especially since there was no textbook where I could study from. That said, she knows the material very well.

Wow! Professor Gallagher was an amazing teacher! I loved going to her lectures she is funny and is never boring. I love her humor and enthusiasm and I can tell she loves her subject because it really shines through her class.

Gallagher is an amazing professor. Her lecture are very interesting and I always look forward to attending her lecture. Her exam are mostly from the notes of the lecture and the book you read and by the way the exam are mostly multiple choices.

This class is an easy A as long as you go to the lecture or get the lecture notes from a friend because 40/50pts is from the lecture. Memorize the lecture notes and you'll do fine. The other 10pts are from the novels she has you read. I didn't read any of them and did just fine but not everyone I know could do that. Just read them, they're short

Never been bored in this sociology class. What I love are Prof. Gallagher's sense of humor, way of using body language and lectures. Attending class is irresistible. It's simple to do well in her class: never skip class, take clear notes (best if using laptop); start reading textbook early; and swing by her office often!

She's not easy, but she is good. Soc of Religion should be a 2-term class but she does the best that she can. I am amazed by the unbiased view she gives of the different religions. Highly recommend.
