One word: Lectures. There is only a midterm and final exam, and a few homework assignments worth very few points. Very boring class. Some topics are interesting, but it is very easy to daydream. Stay focused and while attendance isnt mandatory, it is very easy to get behind and not know what is going on if you miss even one lecture.

Class overall is great, 5 home works, two assignments, a midterm and a final. Easy A if you write down all the examples from lecture because that is what is on exams. He wants you to read two books but ou don't really have to as they are discussed in class. Gives extra credit which are worth 5pts each that you can put towards your grade.

Great teacher, lectures are boring however don't forget to write everything he says including examples because that's what on the midterm and final. Midterm was very easy, notes aren't too heavy. Its just a manner of staying awake during the lectures. The professor tries to throw in a few jokes and his class is perfect.

Prof. Collins is such a great guy but I found his lectures a bit boring; I rarely paid attention and only took notes on his powerpoints which worked against me when it came t the midterm and the final. Take notes on what he says, rather than the slides and make sure to note examples. He also has 2 ethnographic assignments to help your grade.

Attendance isn't mandatory but is in order to do well on the assignments, especially the midterm and final. A lot of the grade is based off of the things and examples that are discussed in class, not just vocabulary and definitions. He sometimes is confusing when teaching but overall really nice and also offers a lot of extra credit opportunities!

Nice man, and he's always willing to elaborate. But I found the topics boring and dozed off a lot. Which was a mistake. Be sure to take notes of what he is actually saying, not his powerpoints. Write an example for each term/concept he discusses because he asks for an example for everything on his midterm and final.

He was not very helpful when I asked for help. He did offer extra credit, but if you could not make it to the events, oh well no extra credit for you. He's boring and the study terms he gives you is nothing like the test. Study your notes and what we talked about in class a lot.

Professor Collins lectures are so monotone and he doesn't seem to make a clear point. He does't use a powerpoint during his lectures so it is really hard to follow. He is a really slow grader, we are in week 11 and he has still not graded assignments from the beginning of the semester. Horrible class, do not take him unless they're no more options.

Collins is lecture heavy but wants your input. Some of the material can be more than a little confusing. He does not seem to grade that tough. I had no idea what the midterm was about and still ended up with a B on it. Show up and half way pay attention and you should be fine.

His wording can be confusing in class and what he expects is ambiguous for the mini assignments however if you go to him during office hours with questions he will explain and answer. For the midterm and final make sure you apply the readings and videos to the examples. I would take him again

Lots of reading, tests are so easy if you pay attention and study. He is a super nice guy but the lectures can be off topic and hard to follow. Not many homework assignments, the ones we did have were easy and he offered lots of extra credit.

lectures are him just standing and talking to you, no powerpoints. you receive vocab lists and he says the definition so you have to listen, but worst come to worst just google it. one midterm, one final and maybe 10 homeworks so not bad but if you fail one test your done. easy grader and not that hard.
