Great writing professor! She really pushes you to improve your writing. She's a tough grader, but she gives great feedback on drafts so that you can work to improve them. Appreciates participation in class and thinking outside of the box. Only take her class if you're genuinely interested in the topic, it'd be difficult to bs the essays.

Professor Myers was one of the most engaging, relatable, and kind writing professors I could have had at BU. Especially after hearing about my friends' terrible experiences, I was so glad I had her. The topic of the class was Education and Work and the books she chose were very interesting and insinuated great classroom discussion. 10/10!

She's definitely not as great of a professor as these comments make her out to be but I can confidently say my writing improved. I just don't think she's that stimulating or amazing.

Despite the class being focused on Education and Work, the writing skills she teaches applies to all academic writing. She gives a writing method that almost instantaneously improves your quality and speed of writing.

Comment:

Her classes are interesting, she's quite a funny person. The topic (Education and Work) is also really interesting. Paper 1 is hard but Paper 2 and 3 get easier. Professor Myer's gives detailed feedback for Paper 1 and 2, but not for 3. Overall, not easy to get an A, but an interesting class that I learnt a lot from.

I love this woman. She gives very in-depth, personalized feedback for ALL of your essays. She made me think about writing in a whole new perspective. She's very approachable and always goes around to ask if we have any questions.

Myers is quite a tough grader, but also a fair one. She is willing to help though if you ask. Not really a huge fan of poetry nor writing, so was not really interested in the class itself.

The class itself is somewhat interesting, however she was a very unclear grader and did not give fast feedback. A lot of times she would not grade papers or give feedback until a week before the next paper is due. She is very bad at responding to emails on time and is not the friendliest. She expresses her unpopular opinion which is often offensive

She is a great professor and goes out of her way to help students. She will answer any questions you have and will take her time to answer them clearly. She is not an easy but fair grader. She really is dedicated to helping her students learn and succeed in whatever they want to pursue in the future. Her point of view is refreshing.2

I took Education & Work thinking I wanted to be a teacher and left KNOWING it. Largely, because of her. She is extremely down to earth (often swears and maybe too many personal details), presents interesting classes (willing to work to make it more interesting if you don't agree)! Great in office hours, both for class help and to chat about life

Although I was not excited when first hearing of my WR100 class subject, "Living Poets", Professor Myers has definitely helped make the class one of my favorites. She has, by far, one of the coolest personalities which makes attending class something I (actually) look forward to.

I hate it when teachers forget what class they are teaching. The class is a required freshman Writing course that happens to be about modern poets. Myers' was a poetry class. If you didn't have new and insightful thoughts about poetry in your papers, you get a bad grade, regardless of your writing ability. She didn't even teach us how to write...

She never teaches how to write, but that's what she grades you on. I make A's in COM writing classes, but not in a WR 150 class? Myers told me at the end of the semester, "You did well! Getting a B in my class is like getting a A!" Will you make sure to put that on my transcript, please?
