A decent teacher, fair exams, but he just can't figure out how to use the microphone properly. Whatever he's doing, it's not amplifying his voice and it's creating RIDICULOUSLY ANNOYING FEEDBACK (electronic squeaking).

This prof is a diamond in the rough as far as McGill Poli Sci profs go. The most thorough knowledge of development theory on the faculty (right accross the spectrum), and also quite the character -- think: arch villain from a Roger Moore era Bond flick. Get him to spark-up a Black Label and tell you about fomenting revolution in Cambodia sometime.

From what I experienced, he is intelligent, funny, and one of the most interesting professors at McGill. His lectures however are very incoherent and hard to follow. He's one of those professors that it would be better to just hang out with and chat while having a few beers than taking his class. But he gives you the exam questions in advance

Best professor at McGill by far. The class material is interesting as hell, but what makes him great is his non stop stories. Everytime he starts to tell a story, whether it be the one about his experience with the Khmer Rouge, Noam Chomsky, Parisian riot police, or the time he spent doing solidarity work with the vietcong..the class is captivated

The prof is incoherent and absolutely not structured. Luckily enough the topic is so interesting that you can learn most of the material from the books and the newspapers. Exam questions are given in advance.

exam is very easy. unlike other Poli Sci teacher, he does not mind giving A to everyone (I think he actually gives A to pretty good amount of people) He is very insightful but his lecture is bit difficult to follow but is interesting enough.

yeah, interesting the first time around. But really biased. Doesn't argue with prevailing opinions so much as he presents his own. Also a lot of the readings are way out there.

Best prof in the Poli Sci dept. Hardcore Marxist. Has encredible stories about living with the Khemer Rouge and getting **** with Pakistani generals. Ask him to wear his Mao-era Chinese Communist Party outfit. Its looks very cool (in a exploited worker kinda way) and i suspect its very comfy too.

You will hate his classes whilst you're taking them, even as you appreciate that the guy gives interesting--albeit useless, so you think--lectures. Then exam time rolls around and you find you know more than you did. He's a wierdly effective prof.
