Comment:

Dr.Bowen is crazy, funny, and a genius. To work with him was an honor. At times he was harsh but he knows what he's talking about. I only had him for 2 semesters of choir, fall 2009 and spring 2010 but it was a wonderful experience.

One of the best professors at Delta. Surprise surprise, he does expect you to come to choir. Excellent director of music, love his humor and narratives, makes everyone want to do their best and learn to appreciate the music (it will happen). So great!

He is a great teacher. Even though the subject may be hard for some, but he makes it pretty easy to understand. There is no final and the assignments aren't too crazy. I would recommend him for anyone who loves music or is interested in it.

He believes in you whether you are expiereinced or new. He is a kick back kind of guy, but gets to buisness when the time is right. You are having so much fun you don't realize how much you've learned until after and you look back at it. I recommend him to anyone whether you are very expirienced or to those who may feel nervous with choir and music

Mr. Bowen is very knowledgeable about music and he is all about it. Sadly, I am not into reading notes, so the class was very hard for me, but some people there that knew things already, the class was pretty easy for them. He does explain things well, i just can't grasp things i am not interested in. Do recommend this class with him.

This man is the best choir teacher I ever had in my life. He knows music more than just notes and melodies.he pertains to music like little example of life and that what makes is teacher so unique. if you enjoy laughing his humor is hilarious.wonderful teacher.

He is a very well prepared teacher. Of course a teacher who has a living involved in music expects more even for a fundamental class. The symphony reviews are so simple, I never lost more than 10 points on them (A!). It may be a little hard w/o prior experience with music in any aspect. He is easy to talk to and help, though, and yes..dry humor lol

he is a total jerk! he flies through notes, most of the time before anyone can finish and he basically just lectures at you for 50 minutes (sometimes more). The one thing that makes me mad is that i had 89.3% in the class and he couldn't find it in his little heart to raise it .7% to an A. i for sure do not recommend you take music 04 with Bowen

Dr. Bowen is one of the coldest men i have ever met. He is rude, and he thinks he is the best thing that has happened to music sense Mozart. His grading system is nothing short of outrageous . He expects you to know everything he does about the symphonies you have to write reviews on. ps. his jokes are the worst and driest part of the class.

I thought that by reading all these comments about him wouldn't effect my outcome grade.. I should've listened! He demands you attend class; if you even show up late he'll mark you absent! lecture notes, notebook checks, symphony reviews=YOU NEED THEM ALL! Quizzes are hard, but the tests are harder! mr.bowen loves what he teaches but the class is so boring.he's unfair on his grading.i wrote 4 papers for extra credit and i stayed up til 2 in the morning writing them,they were longer than the suggested amount of pages and had a lot of deatail in them and he gave me a F on them.he didnt even give me half of the credit. i only got20/150 points.
