Great professor, super easy and very fair grading. He will go over any hw questions there are (within reason) and gives lots of partial credit on tests. He is super chill and explains material very well.

Coble gives an assignment every day which can be annoying but it improves your understanding. The tests are what can be expected and if you study not too challenging.

Comment:

Professor Coble's class isn't the easiest (he grades homework on accuracy) and he's a tough grader on tests, but he really knows what he's doing. Notes in the class are great, and besides proofs, questions on the test shouldn't be too hard/ones that are similar to homework or examples done in class.

He is very friendly and willing to help. Sometimes concepts are unclear in class. I would say the most annoying thing is that his homework is graded harshly according to format and accuracy. Sometimes tests are graded harshly as well. If you are meticulous about everything, you will do well.

I took AP Calc in high school and took his class I thought he explained somethings better than my high school teacher and found his grading and tests to be fair. I highly recommend him. He is also very willing to help you!

Ive taken this professor 3 times for Calc 2, Stats and ODE. He is my favorite professor and a fantastic teacher. He collects homework almost daily and it isnt EASY but he is passionate about what he does and if you pay attention and study you will get an A. Anyone who doesnt give him a fantastic rating is bitter about not doing well

Comment:

Hard tests, grades harshly. Good one on one in office hours, but very condescending in class. If you ask a questions he has other students answer it for you, so you feel dumb. Very much lectures at you, like grade school, not to you. A LOT of unnecessary hw. Overall not the greatest professor, you will do okay but probably not like it.

Very nice teacher who knows a lot about Calculus. Class can be quite boring sometimes because his voice is not exactly entertaining, but in total a good teacher who you will learn from and who will help you whenever you need help.

Fr. Coble is one of the nicest, most intelligent professors I have ever had. The test questions are very similar to homework problems and since he grades the homework, if you do them all you will get an A. I would definitely take him again.

Comment:

Coble is a great professor. Fairly easy. Homework due at the end of class (or before he gets to grading it), but it's only a few problems & he lets you ask all the questions you want at the beginning of class. Do the homework, it's easy, but it really affects your grade. Tests are pretty easy if you study & don't make stupid mistakes. Good teacher!

Coble has a ridiculously huge vat of knowledge of calculus. He likes to explain where equations come from , so classes usually entail a lot of note taking. Homework is graded/required. The tests are difficult, but if you study exactly what he taught, A's are easily attainable. But he is picky so little things will make or break you test grade.

He is really smart so when he is explaning something it makes sense to him but not necessarily anyone else. He is really helpful if you talk to him outside of class. He does a lot of theory in calculus and not a lot of examples so you can understand the concept to a point but you don't get examples which i didn't like
