Comment:
The notes Dr. Lynch gives do not line up with what is actually needed, making it incredibly difficult to learn the things needed. He is an incredibly caring professor, but that doesn't make up for the garbage notes. Avoid taking this class with him if at all possible.

Definitely don't recommend doing this course online with Scott. His online notes don't line up with the textbook so it is very hard to follow along. Gives barely any direction when it comes time for the midterm. He did try to do online meetings but they were useless because the audio never works. Do this course in class with another prof.

If you would like to simply read the book and be provided with no explanation whatsoever, then feel free to take the course with this prof. The lack of professionalism and willingness to explain material and care about the students is lucky, offset by relatively simple questions on the test. I strongly recommend checking other professors out.

Course book is important, however the Study Guide book is the key to pass this course. Do practise each exercise from the text book and Study Guide. It's very important. The professor is very helpful to guide, explain difficult questions/exercises.

This is by far my worst mark yet, but macro is it's own beast. Study what he posts. Use different versions and study it so you know it like the back of your hand. STUDY THE GRAPHS. Review the multiple choice questions in the study guide. Yes there are like 500, know them all ! The text is very hard to follow so do the study guide questions.

He laid out the course in a very confusing way so I never knew how to study for this. When asking for help he never once responded back to various emails (shocking as being online is sort of his job). If this is your first online course DO NOT TAKE HIM, better to do in class. Midterms were nothing like what we learned or what he said they would be.

I couldn't understand the course - no help was given linking the lessons to the textbook, and no direction or assistance was given. I had to wait 7 days for a response about the midterm, with only 2 weeks to go before the exam.

Same thing as with 2010 online with G. Riser. Read the textbook, do the problems in solutions manual as MC exams are based on those questions. I slacked a little but still got a B, easy course overall...

Spent literally 10 hours in total on this course online and got an A, course material is pretty difficult to understand, almost to the point where it's pointless to read it. His tests are really easy and he just uses the material he posted online. The study guide is apparently where all the questions come from but I didn't bother using it. Sigh.

Scott's great, had him for 3 courses now. Teaches in a way that forces comprehension, rather then just blatantly showing you. Biggest problem in undergrad econ classes people not showing up, if you go class, and pay attention, you can easily do well in any of Scott's courses. Solid professor and one of the best I've had.

Lynch and Riser joined forces to create what was the most confusing/frustrating course I have ever done. There was no text. The only aid was a poorly written online manual, which covered approximately 40% of the midterm. For the remaining 60% of the course, we were expected to "Google" economics... Seriously. Econ3150 was a mess.

Took Econ2020 through Distance and the course wasn't hard. Prof sticks to the text book. He takes exam multiple choice right from the Study Guide and long-answer problems come from the posted course problems.
