Dr. Stevens is fantastic and you can tell he really cares about getting his students to understand the content. His tests are definitely difficult, the class average was around 60-70 on all his tests, but they weren't impossible to do well on and if you do all of the readings you should be fine.

COB191 is a hard class but he made things way too difficult. I did all the readings and still failed the quizzes and tests. He makes things seem easy in class and you think you understand but his tests are SO MUCH HARDER than they needed to be. He cares a lot and is a great prof but just made things more difficult than they needed to be.

Hardest class I've ever taken. He purposely makes his tests next to impossible if you have no experience in stats. If you go to his office hours we will help you out, and definitely takes that into consideration whether or not to round up your grade.

let me start out by saying this guy is a genius. its kinda cool. he knows his stuff for sure and he knows how to explain it really well. but this means the tests he makes are so confusing and difficult. you will learn something in his class. i know some people who had him 291, and if youre considering him for that, take him for sure

I literally made an account just to say how awful this guy is. He has interesting lectures, but his tests are IMPOSSIBLE (3 tests, class average 71, 60, 61), he also gave us a test THE DAY BEFORE FIANLS STARTED. Take this guy if you want to ruin your semester

Awesome professor as far as knowing the course, although his test are ridiculously hard he thinks a class average of 60 is good, and its not like we don't have a good understanding of the material its just his test are on steroids in comparison to the material. If you take him and end up with better than a 70 on one of his test your a god !!!!!

Do you want quizzes three times a week? Do you want to read the textbook page by page? Do you want extra stress in your life? Because that is what you'll get with Stevens. Really nice guy who's willing to help but REALLY overcomplicates things. Also the quizzes are all 6 questions or under so you really can't even afford one wrong on the quiz

Professor Stevens is the MAN. His lectures and instruction are always interesting even though the material sucks. Super hard class though but textbook is very useful, you can't go without it. I'm a little scared to see what my grade is at the end of this semester but as far as the professor goes, if you're willing to work hard, take Stevens.

Not an easy class if you struggle learning math from a book. Lectures are mainly example based and if you don't understand the reading it is very hard to keep up with how fast he goes. If you miss one question on the quizzes you automatically get a 66%, 50%, or 0% depending on the amount of questions. Stay clear unless you understand stats.

Nearly impossible, not recommended. His quizzes on Canvas are ridiculous. One mess up and you'll be racking up 0/12 on each quiz three times per week. The material he gives out to help with studying for his exams are no help at all. Try to avoid taking him if you have no experience with probability and expect to put the most time into this class.

It's a difficult class, especially the tests and quizzes, but Dr. Stevens is one of my favorite professors so far. He's a nice guy, really entertaining in class, and works hard to make sure that you learn the material. I wouldn't hesitate to take another class taught by him.

DON'T TAKE HIM! What others are saying is correct. Quizzes are HARD and you can expect 75%. Average test score was 70% every time and he doesn't curve. Don't bother asking for extra credit this guy can't be bothered even though he fails or nearly fails well over 50% of the class. If you need a good grade try anyone else the best I could do was C

He is great. Exams are hard but class was entertaining. The material is hard and so much time has to be put into it in order to do well in the class. Professor Stevens is genuine and intelligent. Learned a great material from him. Fantastic instructor who did a great job with covering all necessary course material and making it interesting.

Dr. Stevens is very good-natured/fun guy. Does not make class any harder than it has to be, and explains things in ways that are easy to understand. Tests are pretty hard, but allows note card and adv. calculator. Booklet he wrote was more understandable than textbook; recommend often doing optional book exercises. Learned a lot about excel.

Stevens is the smartest human being I've ever encountered. He can explain material brilliantly, but YOU must go to him if you're confused, he's not going to baby you. 291 is difficult for a lot of people in general, so put in effort if you want to pass. My advice: pay attention in class & read/do problems in the course packet & don't buy the text.
