If easy A is not what you're after, this professor will teach you all the stuff you need to know about the modern computer architecture. He's very funny, too. Exams are pretty hard, but as long as you attend the classes and do the weekly homework, you should have no problem.

I took 230 with him last semester... that was useless. I can't say this was much better. He assigns useless homework and programs (the solutions to the programs are just floating around on his website), pretty much does the HW for you. Tells you exactly what will be on the test. *sigh* what a waste of my time.

He is difficult to follow sometimes but he cracks some of the most ****/**** jokes I've ever heard come out of an asian man! He can be tough, but if you prove to him that you work hard he will give you what you deserve. My B is actually a C without his curve.

I don't get this class.He writes the programs for you(all you have to do is make some trivial change which he shows you how to make in class).You also have to fill out worthless worksheets about math topics you learned in high school.Exams all cover the same material. If you have to take a programming class,but dont want to learn anything,take him.

One of the worst teachers here at NIU, doesn’t teach you anything just assigns homework and goes over that in class (and does a bad job at that). Fortunately I had a great TA that can teach better than Chung. Avoid if possible but if you have to take him, expect to get nothing out of it and make sure you have the book. FIRE HIM CSCI!

He's a combative ****. Things for which other CS profs are indifferent cause Chung to flip out and verbally assault you in lecture (I saw this happen to multiple students). Is he related to Kim Jong-Il? Could've been a great prof., but his intolerance and temper are limiting. He should be fired.

RIGHT!!! Yeah, this guy is a classic. Funny and very friendly. I felt that I learned alot about the logic and rules of programming, but not alot about actually programming. If you take notes, the tests were pretty easy.

He's funny but he gets off-topic way too often and focuses on unimportant aspects. We could have covered so much more in this class but instead we crawled at a snail's pace. His using ancient Turbo C as the defacto standard puts him way behind the times
