Lectures were dull,notes not clear.I had to use my friend's notes from a different prof to keep up on the material.So I pretty much taught the course to myself,that's what it came down to.He is really nice though and will offer help if you need it.I found that really good about him.I wouldn't recommend to take this course with him though.

Dr. Sadov is one of the best professors I have ever had! He is so helpful and concerned with his students' progress. I can't think of anyone better to take this course with. Also, he is super cute.

Stay away from this guy if you can. His lectures are death, hard to follow and extremely dull. His tests are alright but the assignments are tough; they're completely different from what he does in class so you mostly have to get answers from the lab instructor.

This prof is perfect if you are a student that likes to learn most material on your own. I learned quickly to only listen to the first half of an exampl. then work on my own to finish it, then if i ran into problems i would go see him after class. Sergey is much better one on one then in class!!! He is just to shy to teach a full class.

I've taken a large number of courses in the math department, and I must say I've never had any difficulty with a professor until I took this course with Dr. Sadov. He lectures were unstructured, difficult to follow, and didn't seem to be relevant to the assignments. Very disappointing. I will never take another course with this professor.

Nice man, cared about students and their marks, but terrible prof. hard to understand, notes sucked. Maybe just too smart to teach basic concepts. Easy marker, always looking to give marks. Would not recommend, even though he seems to try hard. Website is very useful, only prof. i had that posted marks going into final exam.

Comment:

Sergey is a very nice man who cares about his students. He is also a man who considers locating a piece of chalk to be the most important step in lecture-preparation. I found him very unorganized, he made some critical mistakes on the board. Overall I didn't get much out of the classes, although the tests were okay. Hard assignments also.

Dr. Sadov is clearly too intelligent to bother preparing a comprehensible lecture. Hey, as long as HE understands what's going on, right? He should stick to research, and leave the teaching to people who can.

Terrible, terrible, terrible. How this man keeps his job is beyond me. Unorganized, inconsistent and plain incompetent. His notes are a complete mess, his classes lack any structure and he can barely communicate even primitive ideas, let alone any sort of advanced mathematics. I've had him for three different classes and all I can say is stay away.

This man definitely knows his mathematics. Sometimes it is difficult to understand him but you just have to pay attention and see him afterwards. He is there to help and if you show you are willing to work his will allow you to redo assignments to get your marks up.

He is a nice guy, and more than willing to help, however, u can't hear him in class, and his notes are horrible. The material in this class is easy, however, it is really hard to follow him. He is very friendly and easy to approach, but for teaching, i would try to avoid him.

Rare is the professor who can make difficult material seem easy, but only this guy can make material as easy as this seem impossible. His notes are a mess; he is barely audible; his tests and assignments are too long and convoluted; some of the material he presents is outdated and flawed; his TA does half the work.

Come on guys, Sergey is not that bad. I think he did a pretty alright job in 2120. He is so eager to answer people's questions and he doesn't mind what kind of questions people ask. And look at his website, great, isn't it? BTW,I found his English is much fluent than some other professors, though he does have accent, not his fault I have to say.

Sergi is probably a brilliant mathematician, and a really nice guy. But it's almost as if he's so smart he can't get the words out to explain it to someone who has no knowledge of C programming. Really easy marker though. I thought I had failed the midterm, but I got a 78. I nearly had a heartattack
