Comment:

On your own for half the class working on your senior project. Multiple homework assignments and discussion postings. Alumni panels were helpful. Gives good feedback on drafts of paper and post-grad plans. Make sure you spend your time well, easy to slack off because class doesn't meet often, get your work done without teacher having to tell you.

Comment:

She is a tough teacher but knows what she is taking about and cares about her students. The tests are very hard and you will need to study quite a bit. The multiple choice is tricky. She offers around 100 extra credit points and drops your lowest 200 points in the class so if you mess up you can get back on track easy. Great class.

Awesome professor! Genuinely cares about her students' success and will do all she can to answer questions you may have. The workload is a little intense, but does give plenty of extra credit opportunities, so there's no reason why anyone shouldn't pass, except for the fact that they don't try. She's an intelligent woman & one of the BEST at UCM!

Shari is the best professor I've ever had at UCM. She cares about her students tremendously, and although her assignments are hard, if you go to class everyday or at least let her know when you won't be there, and do a couple extra credit assignments, there is no way you won't get at least a B. She's amazing, and UCM is lucky to have her!

I really disliked this teacher. She came off very stuck up and LIBERAL. She was not fun or interesting at all. This was supposed to be a freshman level class but it was taught like a masters. I will never take this lady ever again

I have had her as a professor for multiple classes. This lady knows her material and makes the class as fun as it can be. She knows her stuff and her tests are no walk in the park. If you study and take advantage fo the extra credit there's no excuse for you to fail any of her of classes.

I was suprised to see Dr. Bax having such a bad reputation, sure her classes aren't the easiest and she expects a lot out of you but her classes are quite insightful. She knows her stuff and and yuo better too, do the extra credit and you'll see the your grade and knowledge increase

I had Dr. Bax for Research Methods. I love having her. She knows how to grab your attention. She makes the class interesting and helpful by citing examples of how specific research tools will apply in our research projects. She is always willing to talk to students! Top notch teacher, and I will take her classes in the future if I get the chance.

She's a great professor! She makes Government really interesting and fun and was my favorite professor. Tests are hard but she gives good study guides and gives you quizzes beforehand so you'll know what the test will look like. I suggest notecards and her online study session. And she gives up to 50 extra credit points that are easy to attain...

I had her for legislative politics. She has tons of extra credit to help the students. I loved the mock senate simulation and you will too. Its a great way to learn and blow off steam against those whom you disagree with politically.

Dr. Bax is one of the top instructors I've had at Central. She may talk fast, but it's only b/c she has so much knowledge to impart. Does everything she can to help her students succeed: helpful, sets up online study sessions before tests, & allows tons of extra credit. Very intelligent and friendly. In Amer Govt - does not let her politics show.
