Such a sweet professor! I knew from day 1 that she would be great. There is an online element to the class where you read the textbook online and take quizzes about them on Webcourses. She also lectures about how you are to give your speeches. This class really prepares you to speak in front of people which is a life skill.

Ms. H is such a great professor!!! You can tell that she genuinely cares about her students and their success. She is one of my favorite professors and was extremely helpful during her office hours! She is so sweet I definitely recommend taking her class.

Such a sweet woman, she truly cares about her students. Make sure you go to class because attendance is a grade. Sometimes I felt like some of her work was a little extra or repetitive, but I did learn a lot. We have two speeches and she grades kind of lenient on them.

Ms. H is incredibly nice and caring. I'm terrible at public speaking and talking to people in general, but I'm a lot more confident when I talk now after taking this class. Put in the effort to practice your speeches a lot before hand. If you don't practice, don't expect a good grade. She grades exactly based off the rubric, so look at that a lot.

Mrs. H is a very inspirational woman. She herself overcame a fear of public speaking, and has the right knowledge to guide you through it as well. VERY caring, like a grandma, and will help you in anyway she can. Online quizzes every week; super easy. Show up and be respectful and you'll get an easy A, and become a better public speaker.

Sweet, loves what she does. Separates large speeches into smaller assignments. Prepares you well for everything. Follow the rubric and do the weekly online quizzes and you should be fine

She's a super nice lady, but she makes you buy an insanely expensive textbook, NEW, since they don't have used copies of it yet, that you don't even need to read. All of the answers to the quizzes are on quizlet, you don't even need the book other than so you get credit for buying it. She gives a lot of feedback, but be ready to follow strict rules

Ms. H is a great teacher! I absolutely loved taking her class! She is the sweetest thing! Although, don't mistake her being nice. Don't get me wrong, I loved her but you really have to work for the A. The tests and quizzes are all online and are fairly easy if you take really detailed notes but the final is HARD. You NEED to STUDY! I recommend her!

Mrs. H. is a very nice lady! The class is a lot of work though and it sometimes feels as if she is trying to drown you in hw. She gives excellent feedback on all work that you do and as long as you make the changes and apply the corrections you should come out with an A. She truly does care for the success of her students.

Ms. H is a really nice lady, she obviously cares very much about her students. Her class has a lot of work to it, but honestly it is an easy A. There are only two speeches you have to give and the grading criteria is very clear. If you have to take speech, this class is your best bet.

I love Ms. H! When she speaks, you can tell she cares about your success in not only in the class, but in public speaking for the future. She's somewhat lenient when grading (I literally bombed a speech and received an A). Quizzes are the worst part of the class because its 20 questions in 20 mins and you can't change your answers.

Did not like the class at all. She is great but the class is terrible. I still don't know what I got wrong on all the quizzes she made us take because she doesn't let us see them. If you select answer and want to change it you can't.

She is GREAT! Not to sound cliche but Mrs. Hodgson cares so much about these speech classes. She tells you exactly what she wants to see in your work and gives very clear rubrics. If you follow them you WILL get an A. There are online quizzes about once a week and you just use the textbooks and you can get a 90 on them. Two speeches. Not hard. Fun.

Professor Hodgson is a gem! She's so sweet and caring and genuinely wants her students to succeed. She class is mostly speech preparation and presentation, so no tests or papers. The majority of your grade is based on your speech but she prepares you so much its so easy. I learned so much from this class and am so glad i took it!

Class was great and useful to learn speech techniques but I wouldn't recommend anyone to take it. She is really tough on deadlines and the class has a lot of pointless quizzes with unrealistic amount of time limits to complete them. Nice lady but she needs to take it easy on the work for such a simple class. Save yourself a headache and take com

The class is great but you have to do a lot of really annoying quizzes. You have less than a minute per question and you can only do one question at a time and you can't go back to change anything. Once you are done you can't see what you got right or wrong. It was really frustrating. Speeches and other assignments were okay.

Definitely take this class in the summertime. I took it in Summer B and Ms. Hodgson was the best! The class was a little fast paced at first, with assignments like the quizzes or finishing your powerpoint up every few days but it's all worth it. Oh, and get the textbooks, there are chapter quizzes.

Sweetest woman i've ever met! Two speeches that we prepare forever in class and she gives a clear rubric with all she wants from you. Do the extra credit practices they helped so much. The only thing that sucked was there were a lot of quizzes but they pretty much were common sense. This class really gave me information i will use in the future.

Honestly, it's an easy class, but it seriously feels like a highschool class. It felt insulting to my intelligence. So many pointless micro assignments and forced structure that wasnt necessary. Little room for your own thought beyond the style and detailed structure forced upon you to make your speeches. Easy A but dumbed down and tedious.
