She is a professor who gets on her soap box and rants. We had to check out 14 books that you try to read and may as well be reading another language. Everyone realized this class was a joke and by the end, everyone was on their phones or computers. I would not recommend her to anyone.

She is a very unique professor, and I have never had one like her before. She is regularly late for class by 5-15 minutes and asks a lot of fill in her statement kind of questions when she is lecturing. This is the single worst classes I have ever taken in regards to structure and how quickly we get through topics.

Professor Scherwitz is a character. Her classes are pure lecture, she does not write on the board and often goes off into random discussions. She is full of passion for philosophy; has a very different lecture style. Only assignments/papers are the three take home tests that you get two weeks to complete (awesome) Feel free to miss a few classes

Nice lady. Lectures are often unrelated to topics and confusing, sometimes a complete waste of time. She often shows up late for class, sometimes not at all. She grades very slowly, and exams are based off of a study guide that is given out the class before the exam, so cramming is almost a necessity. During any classes she is missing a bra

She seems crazy, but there's a method to her madness and she knows what she's talking about. She's pretty hilarious, but you have to take good notes and study a bit for the tests (She gives out very detailed study guides). Don't be afraid to skip class from time to time though.

She absolutely sucks. Not only does she fail at teaching, but she is the absolute strangest human. Each lecture involves her ranting about nothing related to our curriculum, not to mention you can't read or understand the nonsense she writes on the board. Don't expect to get your tests back within 2 months either. Overall, she scares me a lot.

Worst professor I've ever had. Lectures are incredibly hard to follow, as she often goes off on tangents that have nothing to do with philosophy. Truly loathed coming to the class everyday. She just gave us a study guide on a Friday (with content hardly discussed in class) for a test to be given Monday. Also has not graded test taken one month ago.

This class was pointless. Her lectures were long tangents on subjects that were not necessarily related to the topic. She was extremely unorganized and always late for class. Most of the grade was based on papers that she never graded so basically if you do the work you get an A.

Profesor Scherwitz is super entertaining, but I found the content a little difficult to follow. She is very insightful, passionate, and caring. However, she is also a little scattered brain and that causes me a little stress. She is nuts, but in a good way. If you like fun classes, she's the prof for you. If you need organization, she is not.

Ok, where do I start? Professor Scherwitz course is extremely unorganized. She does not use D2L to post grades, loses students tests, and gives completely unusable notes. She does give a lot of extra credit opportunities but I am not sure if she even recorded mine. Overall, avoid like the plague if at all possible.

Most ambiguous, unhelpful, close-minded professor on campus. Don't worry, you'll get an A no matter what crap you churn out, but don't expect to learn anything or have your opinions be respected. She asks questions then shoots you down. Just feed her an answer she wants once in awhile for participation points and work on other homework in class

Prof. Scherwitz is great. It takes a few lectures to get used to her eccentric style, but once you do, you really enjoy it. She likes to talk, but the ol' hand raise will get her attention if you want to speak up. This class had a fair amount of reading, but it was all interesting. There will be writing, but mostly small-scale assignments.

It's hard to learn in a class where the professor talks at you with huge words, some of which are in Latin, for 90 minutes straight. Had to keep a lengthy journal and check out 14 books for this class. The material was fascinating, but she gave students no opportunity to participate in her soliloquy. A ton of reading and work for a Gen. Ed. course.

Scherwitz is the craziest professor I've ever had! The class is just weird.. Thus, I don't know if I should like that (because some topics are interesting), or if I should be annoyed by her quirks... Exams were not easy and the project we had to do didn't make sense at all.

Professor Scherwitz is awesome!! Readings and attendance aren't required (but the readings and classes are never dull, so you won't mind). She is definitely an ex-hippie and an all-around cool person, she's actually why I'm now a Phil major. Take as many classes with her as possible, you will definitely not regret it!

If you have a narrow mind, do not take any course with Sharon. In fact, stay away from Philosophy in general. If you desire Truth and Knowledge, take all the Philosophy you can and as many classes with Sharon as possible. Excellent educator. Excellent person.

She teaches the material very well, and there's never a dull moment. She allowed a make-up exam for the first of the three tests. I would definitely recommend taking her for this class. The only downside is that it's almost impossible to read anything she writes on your papers/tests when you get them back (which can take a while).

Scherwitz is definitely crazy, but I've never had a hard time concentrating. Looking at the other PHL professors ratings, go with her. It's not that bad, and she's MORE than willing to help in office hours. went in there before every test except my first and went from a 70% to a 102%. she's scatterbrained, but very very friendly. I recommend.

She likes to lecture but if you can figure out the key points you'll be just fine. She's a bit crazy, but it makes the class more interesting. Offers a ton of extra credit and is pretty much impossible to fail. Would reccomend!

Every time I do go to class I wonder why I even went. She just talks about nothing that has to do with anything, and it just doesn't even matter. For the third straight test, I've literally learned nothing at all, so I'm always up the night before until 3 am teaching myself everything. Also, she unexpectedly changes the date of the test.
