Sheila is one of my favourite profs at UVic. Her lectures and readings are engaging and she values student input and class discussion. She is a very caring prof who will answer any questions over email or in her office hours. She is kind, intelligent and hilarious. The class is interesting and she is a fair marker with fairly easy assignments.

Sheila is funny and super sweet. Her lectures tend to veer off course quite a bit, but her choice of readings is excellent and her knowledge and passion evident. I will say that the pace of readings can be quite rapid! Would absolutely recommend.

Instructions were very clear. She is very precise, but if you follow the syllabus carefully you will be able to meet the criteria. This class was indispensable in learning to close read acutely. I learned to focus and structure my essays extremely well, so well that I benefited from my stronger arguments in my other classes before the end of term.

Prof.Rabillard is genuinely nice and approachable. She respects student's opinions and marks fairly. I didn't know what to expect from drama course, but it was fun. The plays were interesting and so many things to talk about. I was happy that all esays were based on our own critical thinking instead of research.

Her class is so interesting! Very calm and warm. She provides insightful thoughts on modern Drama and picks fun plays. I would take another class with her again. Her marking was fair, but I think she likes creative side with interesting, new ideas as long as you can back it up with texts.

A very caring and helpful professor. She is not like haha funny, but cleverly funny. She is very warm. The plays she chooses are very interesting and excting to read. I took this course to give a try in drama literature, but I enjoyed it. Very fun essay also if you choose a juicy play to write. One group presentation, 2 essays, and a final.

Sheila is so sweet! A wonderful personality and she truly cares about her students. Although I wasn't a fan of all the readings, our essay topics were very flexible. Be careful not to fall behind in readings though. It's fast-paced so its tough to catch up!

Prof. Rabillard is fun, quirky, and hilarious. Her style favours group discussion far more than just a plain lecture. Somewhat disorganized, but her knowledge of the subject is superb: she is super helpful in office hours. One of my favourite profs so far and definitely will take another class with her and in the time period.

Prof Rabillard killed any interest I had in any of the literature on the syllabus. Her lectures are dull and misguided. She is not a tough marker unless you are not simply repeating her every word from class. I would recommend dropping any class you have with her. It was a truly awful experience.

Super interesting to listen to, but constantly arrives late, runs the class late while going on tangents, and puts students on the spot. Gives final exam questions before hand though. I found her to a hard marker, but I hadn't taken an English course in years to be fair.

She just might be my favourite prof ever. All I can say is, if you like fair marking and straight forward question-and-answer testing, take this course. She is so understanding and cares for her students more than many profs I have had. She is passionate about what she does, and it is contagious. Can't imagine anyone not liking her.

310 is practically a seminar so there's much less lecturing and much more discussion. I find her to be very helpful in leading the discussions, but I can see how she could be a not so great lecturer. She's very friendly, very understanding, and gives tons of comments on papers. I would definitely take other classes with her.

I thought she was absolutely wonderful. Very understanding and willing to help any student outside of class/office hours. She's also quirky and funny in the classroom. I'm taking 437B with her just because she's teaching it and look forward to more of her classes in the future. She really inspired me to be interested in this time period of theatre.

Most fun, open-minded and interesting prof I've had. Very knowledgeable. No organized notes or structured lectures, but lots of discussion. Expects students to try to see beyond what's laid out for them. If you pay attention, speak up once in a while, take notes during discussions, and show her you can do some critical thinking, you'll do fine.
