I agree with the comments posted. Great teacher, hard grader on papers (make sure you get the draft in for comments), and exams are a bear. If you read book, don't go to class. Tests come from handouts, but you have to understand/know the material. You can't cram. Quizzes announced and she gives in-class assignments that count as a quiz

Probably one of my favorite professors at Mason. She gives 8 pop quizzes throughout.. but she always tells you the class before. One lengthy paper is due at the end but she tells you at the start of the semester. She is very easy to understand and is also very personable. Tests are hard, and she is a tough grader but I loved her class.

Pretty nice professor... Lecture is boring. Can be a bit impersonal (even for an interpersonal class). She didn't know anyone's names in the class by the end of the semester. Tests/quizzes aren't too difficult. I agree with some of the other posters- turn in a draft for her papers because she can be a tough grader.

Dr. Friedley is a great professor. Attendance is not mandatory, but you must go to class to get the notes. There are about 4-5 pop quizzes that are easy if you have read the book, and there is one big paper with 2-3 topic choices. The paper is easy to write, but definitely turn it in early to get her feedback- she is a hard paper grader!

She is a fantastic professor. She grades on a point system which is pretty strict but decent. Interpersonal Comm is pretty much common sense and a boring class to sit through, but she always made it interesting and asked for examples from the class which helped me remember a lot of the information. Highly recommend taking her.

Considering the course, she does a great job of trying to make the subject interesting. It doesn't always work, but you can tell she cares about the subject and her students. She gives "pop quizzes" which are fairly easy, but she grades her tests and papers much harder than you'd expect. Overall, I'd definitely recommend her.

friedley isn't my favorite professor. i dont know what it is. oh, maybe her teaching style. SO BORING. she really tries to get you to understand material which is good but you dont do anything except watch slides. this class is required and i hear that she is the best teacher for this class. she grades her papers REAL hard.SUBMIT A DRAFT TO HER.

Great professor. She is funny, warm, and helpful but she is not gong to hold your hand. There is one weighty paper (write it early if you can) two exams, a group project, and several "suprise" quizes(possibly announced the elcture prior). She started giving study guides, but if you follow your notes you will be prepped for the tests.

Dr.Friedley is a wonderful professor! I highly recommend taking her. She is very understanding and fair with all students. You can tell she just wants the best for her students. Alot of interviewing assignments, midterm exam, and this semester she gave an open book final exam. Overall a good class! Not an easy at though.

shes a great professor, i learned a lot from her class but her tests are hard and she is a picky grader when it comes to papers and presenations. this is a class where i wish attendence was mandatory b/c then i would have gotten an A but her grades are so cut-throat that its hard to get that extra boost & no extra credit :(

Very good lecturer, animated and full of real world examples from her life and others, will keep you attentive. You'll draw a blank on her tests if you don't read, as her just overview the chapters. Though she will give you a general idea of what is on her exams it's always much more than she alldues. Picky & tough grader but overall a great prof.

I am surprised that so many people liked Prof. Friedley to be honest with you. YES, she knows her stuff & YES she is very entertaining. Her grading however, is unfair on papers & presentations. She's really nit-picky... hope you're perfect if you want to get an A.

Very nice and helpful. Her class is not easy, if you study you can do well though. Friedley is a good teacher and I would highly recommend her. There is two papers, one gp. project, two tests and five pop quizzes.

Dr. Friedley is GREAT. She cares about her students and demands quality work from them. She doesn't just want U to get a grade, she actually wants U to learn and use your knowledge in life. The 1st pop quiz I failed, but quickly learned what she was looking for and ACED all the rest. Got an A without an unreasonable amount of effort. Take her.

I absolutely LOVE her. The bottom line is -- she knows what she's talking about. She is very professional and one of the most intelligent professor at GMU. A lot of work but not hard. Most are common sense things. She is a hard grader but so very fair.
