Prof. Chang is one of the best profs I've ever had. He's a really interesting man, and yes, he can be ambiguous at times, but he truly cares about all of his students.

Terrible class. Let us out after 30 minute. No one knew what was going on. I still don't know what I was supposed to have learned in the class. Unclear and very rude. Told me to stop asking him for help because he didn't know.

Nice guy, but his lectures are so boring. This was intro to web design and I almost feel like I could have read a book on html and learned just as much. There were 2 quizzes, 2 exams, and a final project. The class was poorly structured, but it wasn't extremely hard. I'd recommend a different professor if you really want to learn html though.

He is very unclear, so if you want to actually learn anything about software, don't take 1631 or 1530. If you need an easy upper level requirement, take these! As long as you do EXACTLY what he is looking for, you'll get an A. Don't worry about trying to learn what or why. If he says you need a cover page, make a cover page or you lose points.

Invents own material. You will learn NOTHING useful in the real world and waste a ton of time. Assignments were not programming. You will never discuss even the most basic things related to software engineering. Grading seems arbitrary - especially your final grade. He wrote himself into Wikipedia and bragged about it in class. Avoid at all costs.

The worst lecturer I've had. Teaches many things that are not applicable in the real world (source: co-oping). Class fairly unorganized. Teaches from his own poorly-made website. Tests are memorization. Project is mostly documentation. I feel like I learned nothing about engineering software. I would write more, but I ran out of characters. Ugh.

Has no idea what he's talking about. Invents his own material/ideas. Teaches from his horribly designed website, with no semblance of order. If you want to learn, take ANY other teacher. The project isn't hard, but I don't have any motivation to try or pay attention, even though I am interested in software engineering

Prof. Chang does not care much about teaching, nor does he have a solid grasp of the material. Expect to be tested on obscure trivia rather than actual command of the material. He is also somewhat hostile to his students. Avoid if possible.

Chang is an easy professor if you don't want to understand the material and want a B. His slides are useless and he lets you out early almost every class. I honestly learned nothing from this course at all. You will get a perfect score on everything until the final which will be a bunch of random questions about things that you have never heard of.

Chang gets a bad rap because he isn't clear in his requirements for the assignments. However he is a funny guy, and teaches you a lot more than you realize. I made A's in both of his classes - just read all the slides for the test, and if you aren't sure what to do on the assignments, FAKE IT. Bottom line is his classes are great for your resume.

Soft. Eng. class is horrible. Doesn't teach the material well & doesn't listen to the students at all. He bases his grades heavily on quantity and not quality, so you can get a good grade here if you bs alot. His tests are so random and full of useless information, but he sometimes posts them online before the actual test if u can figure url out

Worst professor I've had yet. Very unclear, and very unhelpful. Only way to get a decent grade is to generate heaps of BS. Actually understanding of concepts unnecessary, as he only looks at quantity of material. Doesn't even read when grading. Accent is hard to understand sometimes, too.

If you take him, make sure to get samples from somebody who did well in his class before. Tends to be unclear about what he wants, then finds whoever miraculously did it perfectly and makes them his shining examples. Unhelpful. I asked him to help me with something the day before a test when i realized nobody understood and he said "Too late!"

don't think he has any business teaching. lecturwerif you want an easy cs class where you can get an A without doing anything, take this class. if you want to actually learn something and have a class you can enjoy going to stay away. he seems like an interesting guy, but he's a terrible teacher
