The class was fairly easy and as long as you use lots of textual support and evidence from the books, you'll be fine. Anyone in Honors was lucky to have him! Our class was happy to be the last, as he is just now retiring.

Online class, just terrible offered no help on the papers and graded them very toughly without really saying what he wanted. Do not take this professor if you can avoid him.

I took this as an online class. Not a good class, lectures are useless, very tough grader on papers and he doesn't tell how he wants his paper. This is one of the worst classes I have taken, and I am so sorry I wasn't able to take any other class to fulfill my requirements.

If you're in the honors program, TAKE HIM. When you get to Eichmann, he'll blow your mind, and the rest is awesome too. Extremely intelligent, funny in his own weird way, and very friendly. Not for the feint of heart, though. His papers require you to read the texts thoroughly and have a lot of original ideas. You WILL learn a lot, though.

Sid's very passionate about what he teaches, but his only problem comes from his papers. His lectures were engaging, but by no means useful, and rarely had anything to do with the assigned paper. His assignments require a lot of work on the student's part, but since this is college, it's hard to list that as a complaint.

The material was interesting, however four out of the seven books were extremely boring. The professor did not give any positive feedback or suggestions on my midterm and the negative comments he did write were illegible. When I contacted him about my concern, he did not respond. He does not like to be bothered with questions or concerns.

OMG, don't take this professer. I had him for an online class. He is a hard grader and doesn't offer much feedback. Two papers to write but they were hard as hell and there are like 7 books to read. I spent countless hours on my paper and he gave he a C. I was shocked bc I'm a 3.8 student. Not a blow off Iwish I listened to the others who rated hi

I took this class online and I received no feedback at all, despite reaching out to the Prof 7 times. He kept saying he'd follow up but never did. We had 2 papers for the class. I got a B+ on one and have no idea what I got on my final, even though class is over. The material was good but the follow through was the worst I've ever experienced.

Great instructor - tons of reading material, but you can do well if you pay attention and try to understand the material. Writing assignments were interesting and not too hard.

Occasional lectures, but the class was mainly led by intense student discussions. The one and ONLY downside of Sid is his completely illegible comments on papers. This man is, honestly, my favorite professor ever. No, favorite PERSON ever. He knows what he's talking about and addresses all comments with an open mind and respect. Take him.

Took course online and it was very organized. Really fair grader. Midterm and Final Questions are relatively easy even when you don't read the book. His video lectures were very helpful also.

May be getting senile because he will say something and when you reiterate that information he will say that is incorrect. When one uses source information from world-renowned historians, he will say the information is incorrect, especially when it comes to the european jews. High on censorship and low on being available.

One of the best professors ever, hands down-- he's a passionate, incredibly nice guy, who's absolutely adorable, and teaches a great class. He knows his stuff, encourages open discussion, is very understanding if you're having trouble with material, and makes you feel very comfortable. I can not rave about this man more.

REALLY nice guy, funny in his own weird way, and very passionate about his subject. unfortunately he rambles off onto tangents sometimes, but they're usually really interesting tangents so it's okay. a fair grader, not easy but not hard. would very much recommend esp for holocaust related classes, his specialty

What is up with people saying he's hard? I had him in summer and went to maybe half of the sessions and got out with an A. He's an intelligent professor, but I felt he catered to the older student crowd a little too much. Some of the discussions were a little boring, too. But I am glad that we read Arendt, very good and interesting material.

Intersting class but crapload of reading. 10 books ranging from 150-400 pages. Yes, you HAVE to read them all. Midterm and final require citation (LOTS) from all texts. Some books interesting, some not. Hard ass grader. DO NOT TAKE THIS AS A BLOWOFF. The only reason I didn't drop it was b/c his lectures were great and it was an interesting topic.

This subject material is extremely interesting and you can tell that Bolkosky is extremely passionate about the Holocaust. But he is of no use when it comes to answering questions or contacting, and forget asking him to elaborate on a paper he graded and why he gave you the grade he did -- he made me feel like I was asking too much of him.

I took the Holocaust through the Reach program. 13 video tapes to watch~about 1 hr. long each, but Sid is stylin so they're fun to watch! Well..they're depressing actually, but you get the point. Lots of reading but most of it's interesting and a quick read! Fair grader w/ a 6-10 page midterm and final.
